Lack of faith/half-hearted asking for faith/brain cancer= FAITH/Traveling with John to share his story!

A picture Ruth entered in the fair about 25+ years ago, when John was about 4.  He was 31 a few days ago, and for his birthday he asked me to accompany him as he travels to Glenwood, MN to share his story of finding Faith through brain cancer after praying half-heartedly for Faith.

The final words from the Gospel today jumped out at me on this day filled with prayer to the Holy Spirit to be in John and to use his words to touch hearts...
He was amazed at their lack of faith.
Mark 6:6
Jesus had returned to his home town, and thinking that they knew him, as small towns will label you... he could not reach them as they had him prejudged.  He hands were tied by their lack of faith.  John discovered that he was just going through the motions, and had not made his faith his own until he had to fight for his life against the giant/brain cancer.  David facing Goliath!
His story continues...
His Birthday #31 picture!  Many prayers answered including a new job, which seems to be a good fit.  Jobs have been the challenge with the new John.  He has to trust and pray without ceasing!
After 16 years in the herd - John's show cow, Baby, went to the sales barn yesterday.

"Yes, she is old and tired.  She and Bertha were the best." said John.
Bertha was a wonderful cow, who John showed numerous times at the State Fair with reserve champions with her calf!  Baby did well too.
Pat ushering his 20 head to be sold for meat... the end of the road.
In the house between loads and captured my joybeam, Joy, in soft pink furriness.
Then her and mom joined us for the last load and stayed to watch them go through the showring.
Every bunch that would come in..."Grandpa's cows?"  These weren't grandpa's yet...

John brought his sisters to his bedside when he discovered that he had cancer in his brain after half-heartedly asking for Faith!  He has always loved for them to be all around him!  The best medicine!

I am soon to send out a family text to ask them to lift up their brother tonight as he shares with others helping them to find Christ and His Bride, The True Church!  He always starts his talk sharing about his 4 older sisters, and how much watching them share their faith made him realize that he was not there and hence asked for Faith!
His oldest sister, Ruth, is now the farmer/farm wife/mother of 6 on the farm.  How her dad loves to share his wisdom with her!

For myself... there is no greater joy than to see her embracing the LIFE she grew up with and making it her own.  So much JOY to be able to relive that wonderful happy nest on the farm I was blessed with now in her family!
 Joy hard at work...
She fell asleep in mom's arms by time grandpa's came through.  They called them "fat" and that is a good thing for old cows!  They did well and impressed the buyers!
The first two through weighed over a ton each!
The next one came in alone and they called her "a tabletop that you can lay on.  She is so big!"  "Good meat and lots of it." Said Pat the farmer, and lover of beef!
Baby going through... for as thin as she was coming off pasture... Pat was pleased with how much weight she put on, and how she did in the ring.
Fare thee well, Baby.  You gave us 16 years and we could alwasy find you up front for a scratch and a pat on the head.  So tame!
On to greener pastures...

John arriving in France for Susan taking her habit and becoming Little Sistesr Hallel after his 2nd chemo for brain cancer and getting better!  "We can go to France!"

I have to share these two together... John and Susan were the last two of our children with many losses all around them!  Two miscarriages between them and then 2 stillbirths and a final miscarriage after John.  As a result Susan/Little Sister Hallel adored and looked after her younger brother without fail!  She is even credited for saving his life when he was 2 years old!  Looking around she asked "where's John" and we turned to see him entering a shed as Pat was backing out a tractor!  Yelling and running and scooping into safety!  Saving his life!!!!

I am going to call Hallel and ask her for prayers tonight while her brother is sharing his burning passion - helping others to find Christ!

She sent me an amazing booklet in the mail this last week -sharing the second meeting with Little Sister Marie, their foundress - it happened this last summer and we are now gifted with the powerful message she had to share with the parents of the Little Sisters and Little Brothers... this message about why they are beggars... She shared how the Lord showed her I Kings 17 - Elijah and the widow, when she felt he was telling her to beg from the poor!  She was told; "You, remain a beggar of the poor and I will bless the poor."

Susan when she told us she was joining The Community of the Lamb with their foundress, Little Sister Marie and Fr Jean Claude in 2008!  She is now fully professed Little Sister Hallel!

Marie shared this at the end of her beautiful time with parents of her Community;
The Little Brothers can tell you a couple stories that really impacted us.  Especially one in Argentina, where the little brothers begged in a very poor neighborhood.  Five years later they went back to the same neighborhood.  A young woman told them, "But it is you who came here 5 years ago!  Do you know that when you came to our house mom didn't have anything, but she told us, "We cannot refuse missionaries, monks.  Go quick to the end of the street and buy something on credit."  They did it in complete discretion.  And after 5 years the young woman says to the brothers.  "Since you came to our house dad found work again, we always have something to eat, mom was healed..."  A series of blessings!

I found this in Hallel's room when she left behind all her possessions to become poor!  In the Community of the Lamb!

So much today filling me with great love and JOY!  So powerful to share our journey as a family, which has now been expanded by hundreds with our beautiful Family of the Lamb!  Thank you, Lord, and please be with John this night!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb

John and Susan in Assisi!  She gave him a call on his birthday and that is the best gift to John and Bobbi!  How we love having her close by in KC and have fake plans to go and visit in a little over a week!
