Love the fall look with the golden corn field and the lone white chicken getting herded. Bean harvest started early yesterday... many prayers for the farmers as things get high stress and all the big equipment!Missing the 3 little boys after mass a week ago Sunday! I am picture poor now after the big gathering since then... I have been struggling with a cold and just not enthused about much. The Crosses that come to me seem heavier and more of them... I am certainly dragging them these days!
Today we are celebrating that Cross of our Salvation and Jesus asks us to follow after Him! So we know that the Cross is huge for us and for our LORD, Jesus!
The girls missing only Birdie... I bought 5 matching dresses, and 6 bows, and Therese was my main helper!

All the readings today are amazing! Starting with the bronze serpent on the post which if they looked upon they would be healed from the poisonous bite of the snakes! Reminding us that Jesus does not take away our cross to bear, but if we look upon Him and trust in Him we will find LIFE/LOVE/LIHGT when we embrace that Cross! We are asked to die to self and allow Jesus to dwell in us and give us the strength to find Him there to assist us as we stagger down the narrow path to heaven forever with Jesus, Mary and ALL the Saints!
Philippians 2 for the amazing second reading!
Brothers and sisters:
Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
coming in human likeness;
and found human in appearance,
he humbled himself,
becoming obedient to death,
even death on a cross.
Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
How I longed to get my 3 little 1 1/2 year old grandsons together at least once a year... well, it was 14 months, but it happened when it was doubtful, so I am thrilled! Undressed alike shortly after Maria arrived with Pat from Washington. Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
coming in human likeness;
and found human in appearance,
he humbled himself,
becoming obedient to death,

John and Bobbi with our 2 youngest grandchildren, Birdie and Jude, last Sunday. The cross that John had to embrace 11 years ago continues to give us the new John to this day! We ask the Lord to show us the path He has for John.
john's story that he longs to share high and low - His story continues with a wife and children and a search into where the Lord wants him.The best with antics to get them to stop fussing and smile! a job
Matching shirts from grandma and holding them in mommy's arms. Evangeline in the background = a definite picture of LIFE! My favorite!
Try, try, and try again!
With Our Lady...We love her so much!
Many prayers for all those out there affected by the horrible wild fires! Pat's sister hopes to be stopping in today to visit Maria and family on base.
My dad with my grandkids - ALL of them! Such a keepsake for me! With my current illness - I am feeling down and overwhelmed by the cares for my dad that seem to have no end in sight! I do have great JOY in our prayer life and for the most part things are going OK with a glitch here and there along the way. I know that a lot of these feelings will get better when I get better. It is quite evident to me that missing days sharing my passion here is a sure sign that I am under the weather.
Hector was screaming, but surprisingly it is not very evident.

Dad was mentioning that today - The Exultation of the Cross was a feastday that others would call our family day as our name is Cross! Deacon Robert Cross and his 140+ descendants happy Feast Day indeed!
I have a sister that even has more grandchildren than I do by a couple! My father has 58 great-grandchildren and today - on Monday he prays for every one of them by first and middle name! Talk about being sharp in the mind. His good mind makes our prayer time special and rich!

Lord, how we ask for your Mercy to come and dwell in our country and our world and in our domestic Church/family. There is so much that weighs heavily upon us and we long to be lights to the world and reveal your Truth in this culture of death that is embraced and promoted all around us. May we die to self and take up or drag our Most Cherished Cross and follow you down the narrow path to heaven forever at the end of the path! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Yesterday the chickens were all over my yard and they came to visit our Lady. Today they are all cooped up.. their freedom is no longer.
Pumpkin, gourd and chicken...
Up on the porch...
The cat was a bit surprised to have more unexpected companions all around the yard. None missing my nightfall. Bless-bless, BarbaraYesterday the chickens were all over my yard and they came to visit our Lady. Today they are all cooped up.. their freedom is no longer.

On this most blessed Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, may we reflect on these words from today's second reading!
"...He humbled himself,
becoming obedient to death,
even death on a cross.
Because of this, God greatly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name
that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus

to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2: 8-11)
