Rose's first Communion day on Simon's 16th birthday!

On May 3rd Rose Again put on her dress as it was to be her First Holy Communion that day before Covid changed the world as we know it.
Now we will have mums and pumpkins as decorations not tulips, and the fields are now golden with harvest underway.  It was providential that her First Communion has been moved to this day - September 20th, which is her oldest brother, Simon's 16th birthday, too!
It is fun to have these ahead of her mass which will take place at 3p with a party following for the two of them.  Nancy, who is Godmother for both Rose and Simon, is on her way with her family so we will have an instant party with plenty of family at mass and afterwards at the farm.

Even a grandparent and little sister, Joy, picture already!  We love you Rose Again, and pray that Jesus will dwell in you richly from this day forward as you are now coming to the table of Jesus in the Word and Body and Blood!

From morning prayer that dad and I just shared in the intercessions
Each Sunday give us the joy of gathering as your people,
around the table of your Word and your Body.
Lord, you are our life and our salvation.

This has been a year like no other, and we did manage to have all 3 of our grandchildren receive their First Holy Communion in each a unique way.  Augustine's was a surprise just as the closing of masses was beginning - at a daily mass Father said that he was ready and in his superman sweatshirt and sweat pants he had his First Communion with his surprised family around him!

This is how Maria shares about Patrick's first Communion at the beginning of the summer with Ruth and Paul visiting!

It finally happened!
Patrick received his First Holy Communion!
COVID couldn't keep him away from Christ forever!

It was a unique First Communion.
It was outdoors.
Numbers were limited (which Patrick was SO thankful for).
But we didn't have to wear masks and we had extended family present!
It was wonderful!
Fr. John Kelly presided.

Congratulations Patrick, Augustine, and now Rose today!

Augustine in midMarch just under the wire for the closing of churches and going on line.
The Body of Christ!  Amen!
And Happy 16th birthday today, Simon!  You are a wonderful hardworking farm boy, who excels in math and science - your future lies ahead as you ask the Lord to show you his prefect plan for you alone.

Back to school picture for the two high schoolers - Simon is a sophomore and Mary is a freshman.  They support each other, and put Jesus first in their lives asking Him to lead them and show them His plan.  Jesus, we trust in you!  Thank you for how we are gifted with sharing our Faith/family/Farm!  Bless-bless, Barbara
