Today the first reading is the book of Job! We start with this wonderful man of Faith and his blessings that are suddenly taken from him as a test of his love for God. Even his house full of children are killed when the walls of the house they are gathered in falls on them! His amazing response!
“Naked I came forth from my mother’s womb,
and naked shall I go back again.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
blessed be the name of the LORD!”
In all this Job did not sin,
nor did he say anything disrespectful of God. Job 1:22
How I loved every minute I had with them mid week for 8 weeks! I miss my mother sorely, but we feel her presence and intercession from heaven in our daily journey - now into 5 1/2 months!
As dad and I were sharing the meditation from the Magnificat today about the suffering of Job only making sense in sharing that of Christ's for us! Dad pointed out that the day of mother's passing when she fell in front of him in their assisted living and called out to him; "Robert help me! I am in terrible pain." She then said the same thing to my sister, Paula, who met her at the hospital and was with her through the day. And to me; "Barbie, help me I can't breath and I am in such pain!" Dad pointed out that her day of suffering was definitely placing her in the presence of Jesus on the Cross and sharing with Him in that sanctifying grace in her final day on her way to join Jesus and Mary and the Saints in heaven forever. Truly Jesus in crucifixion was unable to breath and in excruciating pain!
One of the last roses from my mother's garden! She was always making beauty happen in her yards, gardens and homes! Reflecting her inner temple filled with the fruits of His Spirit that dwells there! In morning prayer today dad pointed out...In your goodness pour out on us the fruits of your Spirit,
– patience, kindness and gentleness.
Preserve us in your ministry, Lord.
Dad pointed out that I could take a lesson in gentleness from the Holy Spirit and my mother, who adjusted to praying with my father for 43 years as they shared morning and evening prayer as a Permanent Deacon and his wife!
These 22 weeks of having him here in my home from hospice have been for the most part good. There are some of those personal quirks of each of us that kind of push our buttons - it is always the sad truth that with those you live the closest with and love the most - you knee jerk and treat the worst! May we find the fruits of the Holy Spirit there in our domestic Church/home to allow us to return to those the closest to us what Jesus pours upon us - unconditional LOVE and forgiveness!
This still happens on a spiritual level! Dad here in his jammies after breakfast and some days in his beloved chair due to pain in his shoulder! And mom joining us from heaven! Many days dad will look at her picture and give her a blessing and say; "Help me Nancy this day!"
My sweet mother, who I miss so much! She suffered for the last few years with head pressure and increasing dementia! For a woman, who was a wealth of intelligence and wrote volumes including a complete Bible study of the Bible... such a cross to bear and united that suffering to that of Jesus!
The website with her works of sharing The LIGHT with the world, as well as dad's work with alcoholics!

My chickens that follow me around the yard...A memory of Joy Jean from 2 years ago. She continues to share her name with all around her - the epitome of JOY!
and placed it by his side and said to them,
“Whoever receives this child in my name receives me,
and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.
For the one who is least among all of you
is the one who is the greatest.” Luke 9 today!
Dad and I at prayer this morning with mom, Mary and Jesus!
Lourdes candle lit and uniting our prayer for safety and healing from Our Lady of Lourdes! She is so important to us on our journey of healing along with Blessed Solanus Casey, St JPII, and many others! Bless-bless, Barbara
The story continues with wife and 2 gifts of sweet babies!
