Today David enters officially into teenage years at 13! How I remember the prayers constantly in my heart, mind and soul the day Ruth went to Sioux Falls to have him by C-section after being told no more children after rupturing while trying to Vback having Mary over 2 years before. The Catholic surgeon, who had saved her uterus, told Ruth to give her uterus a year to heal well and then more children were possible for her. She is now expecting her 7th child in mid November! Her 4th since David.
"Wow Dave! You are driving that big tractor and helping? That is wonderful!"
"Well, grandpa, I had better get going again. Here comes dad with the baler."
Dumping out a bale and on he goes.
Great grandpa shared licorice with the workers when they stopped in to do jobs here. I have now added some ice cream cones in the freezer in the garage for them to have when they come by. David is very wonderful to come and weed eat for me from time to time, and I sure appreciate his help!David is a duck farmer - he raised some last year and sold the eggs for a big profit... this years ducks now are at my house since they left to the Boundary waters adventure and were getting into Ruth's garden...Getting a cone on a hot day - thanks, boys! I want you to come back and help old grandma from time to time. It just gets funny when you are aging and all your help is gone. Something is wrong with that picture.
The Camden bunch last week - David has now joined Therese at 13 - they are just 4 months apart!
Out standing in his field a few years back. David is a good helper on the farm, and seems to really like doing it. That seems to be the secret behind taking to the farm and not. Time will tell and Jesus has the final word for the path David will take in his life. Jesus is in control and has a plan for David alone!
Last years' goat - now Mary has a herd and I am sure that Dave will be showing one at the County Fair along with pigs and cows.
A year ago we got to go to KC with Dave and Rose while my brother took care of dad here. Hallel, who loves to work with wood, made a bench with Dave. It was special time for them to share with grandpa Pat too!
This was a heartwarming sight to see them working together on a bench which now sits by the garden.Another one from 10 years ago with our feet in sugar sand!
7 years ago was the year that Therese got a Little Sisters Habit for her birthday and grandma had to do a photo shoot! She definitely has religious life as one of her options in her future life. I pray that each of my grandchildren will have that as an option as they ask the Lord to show them his plan for them. Religious life or the priesthood or deaconate is a most wonderful option!
How I love this as we gaze upon this icon all around us!
LOVE this too! May we see Christ in all those around us - most especially those in our domestic Church/family!
Mom and dad are now there beside me visually in their 70th wedding anniversary picture. They are with me in all my reading each morning from their wonderful books of prayer they left behind for me, so I love to see them, too!
2020 was quite the year with the death of both my parents 7 months apart! I am lifted up by their prayers and books of prayer. I am forever grateful to them for bringing the 13 into The Church 50 years ago. Each day since has been total gift to me with so much each new day now with the help of my parents, Pope Benedict XVI, Brother Victor Antione, The Prayer of The Church, Daily devotion by St Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Daily devotions by Bishop Fulton Sheen! I am overwhelmed by your LOVE and MERCY, my Lord and Lady!
My prayer space is also furniture from my parents' home and I feel like I am getting a hug! Hallel there too, and Yes, a reminder that I need to offer it up more! I am off to pray with 7 Sisters for Fr Denny now. Prayer is constant and fills me with peace and JOY! Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barbara
