On an adventure called Faith/Family/Farm - bringing us together - Follow me, and tell the mighty deeds of The Lord

Ruth with one year old Rose again 8 years ago in Michigan.  Like her sister before her, we thought that Rose would begin to walk in Michigan at 13 months, but she held tightly onto her mom's fingers.  Rose to this day is missing and loving Michigan, where she went for weeks of her summer since she was a baby until about 5 years ago.

Like her grandmother, who grew up spending summers on the big lake - it gets into your heart, mind and soul - we miss it deeply!  We have some fake plans to try to go there this summer but it is quickly filling up and passing before our eyes.  Place it in the Lord's hands and trust in His plan!

5 years ago with the 13 - since then we have added 7 more with 2 more in the womb!  A few more in heaven, too.  Open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS in picture form...

We are departing in the dark in the early morning for a crazy trip to Fort Lewis, WA and back in 4 days!  We will arrive there for an evening with the family and then to their surprise bring back the oldest 5 grandkids for some cousin time on the farm.  Pat thinks we can do the two days of travel on both ends, some time meeting baby Maggie, and then back by mid afternoon on Tuesday!  I am thinking it will be a lot, and asking the good Lord to give me the strength and patience I will need to face it all.
Don't really have a theme for this year yet.  I do like the white... maybe time to repeat that?  There will be pictures when we have that small window of having all our grandkids together - it will happen!!!

Yes, we also have more boys than girls after our nest years of 4 girls and a boy.  All that active boy guns, swords and lightsavers does get to me... I am used to much more peaceful girl activities like watercoloring and dolls and play house.  I imagine Ruth's pool will be chaotic and grandma life guard will be needed for safety!
5 years ago with Our Lady - these 3 are the same age for 6 months - now Rose is 9 and Patrick and Bernadette are both 8.  They are best friend/cousins!

There was a point where I thought that Pat should take one of the farm grandkids other than me for this big crazy adventure, but when I really considered missing the experience with it's ups and downs - I did not want to miss out.  So off we go into the wide blue yonder!
Family time supreme 3 years ago in France for Hallel's wedding/final vows - "I promise unto death."

The words of the Gospel came to reality - "the faith to move a mountain" - thanks to an inheritance from Pat's mother, who had been to France for Hallel's first vows in 2011 at 92, we were all able to be there for Hallel!  Truly a beautiful blessing - only the youngest from each family stayed with the other grandparents.
Aglow with the encounter with Jesus after mass and Adoration in Trinity Cathedral in France.

It was cute that Ruth missed chairs with backs after their 5 days in the Boundary waters.  Our time in France is much the same for me - I recall walking down the path in Saint Pierre, France with my nun daughter years back asking her if she didn't miss "a soft couch or cushion to sit on."  She gave me a look like it had never crossed her mind.  It made me realize that she is truly in a good place with all the poverty she is to embrace.  She accepts and does not long for things that she does not have.

Pat also quizzed the kids about sleeping in a tent while their cousins are visiting next week.  "They can sleep in a tent, but I want my bed!" says Rose, who slept on the ground and felt every rock underneath her for 5 nights!  Joy agreed - "I want my bed!"
A sign of her marriage to Jesus - her cross now is the seal of The Lamb!
To see her surrounded by her sisters, in laws and nieces and nephews was truly a miracle for me to see.  For my family to share in the powerful experience we have had in Saint Pierre since John and I found ourselves there 12 years ago for Hallel's taking of the habit in the midst of his brain cancer journey!
12 years ago on the Feast of the Queenship of Mary - Susan becomes Little Sister Hallel!  What?  "It is the first part of Hallelujah and every time someone says my name they are giving God all the praise and worship!"
My heart was full to the brim with gratitude for Jesus calling Hallel to "Follow me"  and her "yes!".

Today in the Gospel Jesus says these words to St Matthew the tax collector, and he drops everything to follow Jesus!  Hallel has done the same, and in many ways all of my children have in their marriages and openness to children - where they are called to die to self as they serve without counting the cost their spouses and children - sharing our Faith as a family!
Our place marked out for Hallel and her family of 21 there for her big step - we now number 30 with 2 more on the way!  Hallel has yet to meet her youngest niece, Magdalene Rose!  Her dad coming back from Afghanistan soon will be able to hold her for the first time!
Next Lourdes on Bobbi's birthday in the rain!  John's 3rd time and where he fell in love with Our Lady of Lourdes.. she was certainly part of John's miraculous healing along with the prayers of thousands, Blessed Solanus Casey, St JPII, and so we have the new John!
The outer ring of Hallel's lamb was given to us, her parents!  "Wounded, I will never cease to love."  Lord, may this be how I approach any hurt or discomfort that comes with this trip ahead.  There will be times of discord with all that lies ahead on the road for so many miles.  May I turn my frown upside down.  May I die to self and find uplifting of my soul as we pray the rosary and morning and evening prayer throughout our travel.  So much peace comes from sharing prayer!  Jesus, may we put you first!  May we, as the psalm today reminds us - "tell the mighty deeds of the Lord."  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
The virgin with her lamp lit - the Gospel comes to life!
Tomorrow will be the 35 anniversary of my sister Mary's death!  Much will be shared of how she touched our lives!

The meditation today to speak to - “Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.
Go and learn the meaning of the words,
    I desire mercy, not sacrifice.
I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”  Matthew 9

You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways
inherited from your fathers,
not with perishable things such as silver or gold,
but with the Precious Blood of Christ,
like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.- I Peter 1:18-19
"Preach often on the
power of the Precious Blood
received in Holy Communion.
Tell souls that
the Most Precious Blood of Jesus is ...

·   the price of our redemption,
·   the salvation of the world,
·   the glory of the Holy Sacrifice,
·   the vesture of Christ's priesthood,
·   the beauty of His altar,
·   the splendour of His saints,
·   the defeat of Satan,
·   the reconciliation of sinners,
·   the healing of those wounded by the evil serpent,
·   the shining purity of priests,
·   the life of those who follow the Lamb,
·   the peace of the troubled,
·   the remedy for every ill,
·   the soul's desire,
·   the astonishment of the angels,
·   and the joy of the Church."
