The Pat and Barb Verly family and their 5 children, in laws and grandkids along with many prayer warriors have been drawn together by John's cancer... sharing daily for 8 months started this blog- Family Soul Story - Our faith, family, farm and now our cancer journey called HEALING have colored and deepened our world. WE continue to share and depend on the support of our prayer warrior community, that has lowered us into the Lord's presence for His healing!

I had the joy of making Francis Xavier a card to send to France on the occasion of his being ordained a priest on August 6th in Saint Pierre, France. The entire Community of the Lamb has gathered there to support and be with him for this most amazing step in his life!
My hero, Archbishop Joseph Naumann, who asked the Community to come to his diocese 12 yeas ago. The first foundation in the United States, and this allowed our Hallel/Susan to be the first American Little Sister! What JOY to have them just 6 hours from our door to theirs! Hallel has lived there for some years lately while our Nancy and family lived there, too. What a blessing to have 2 of our daughters to visit there. Thank you, Lord and Lady!
I am still glowing with great happiness to be able to use dad's verse from Isaiah 55:1 on Little Brother Francis Xavier's card! The verse the Holy Spirit used to tell dad to come into The Church 50 years ago while on an Ignatian retreat! Why use it here? As a priest Francis Xavier will be bringing LIFE into the world every time he consecrates the mass - the Eucharist! Jesus coming to us in His Body and Blood!
This verse is very Eucharistic as my father pointed out a few days ago in Morning prayer!
Yes, dad! How special was it to share this with dear friend, Little Brother Francis Xavier. I know you are looking down and involved in surrounding him and our Hallel with more perfect prayers!
A week late- a card for grandson, David! He was 13 on the 16th last week while he was at Celebrate You Camp! Loved making his card complete with the 13th Psalm for his 13th year of life! His assisting at mass is a beautiful thing, and sitting on the bench that he built a year ago when he went with us to visit Hallel in KC! Hallel loves to do wood working so she shared a project with David in the shop - a bench for using down through the years at Lumen Christi Monastery - the LIGHT of Christ!
A picture of the sandy beach in front of our former cabin in Manistique, MI! Last year the water was so high that the beach was gone - now this! We certainly have witnessed dramatic changes over our 25 years of going there. I am heart broken that we no longer own the cabin... fake plans to go with a few o of my grandkids at some point after the fairs are behind us.
Mom and dad are over the moon to know this... I am sure!
Out on the porch praying "with dad" yesterday - watching the flag, and the white trucks in the distance going by on Hwy 59, and listening to the wind chimes given as a gift to remind me of my parents with me now together in heaven. The tears rolled and I cried long and hard for the first time in a long time.
7 years ago - the picture that dwells in my heart - my 5 united in love for Jesus, His Bride, The Church, Mary and the Saints and one another. My domestic Church/family united in our Faith with no reservations is my greatest JOY!
A lone beauty this morning... A very special day indeed as it is the Feast of St Mary Magdalene, and therefor Maggie's feast day just 5 days after her Baptism day!

I love this first reading from Song of Songs today - it reminds me of Susan when she left for France and joining her Community of the Lamb - I found a small piece of paper with a verse from SOS in her room by her crucifix!
The Bride says: On my bed at night I sought him whom my heart loves– I sought him but I did not find him. I will rise then and go about the city; in the streets and crossings I will seek Him whom my heart loves. I sought him but I did not find him. The watchmen came upon me, as they made their rounds of the city: Have you seen him whom my heart loves? I had hardly left them when I found him whom my heart loves.
Yes, it also reminds me of St Mary Magdalene and her love for her Jesus!

Another Mary , who announces the risen Jesus to the world of sin and darkness, from which the Lord had healed her and saved her and therefore she longed to follow Jesus alone! May we ask for her help to do the same in our lives!

Every time I would close the door I would hear this jiggle - it was dad's cane! How I love to recall throughout the day that he continues to be with me and my family more perfectly! I love you dad and miss you!
