Grandma had so much fun finding a kitty shirt in my drawer of children's clothes that I collect here and there... perfect fit! Also had fun doing her curly red hair into french braids, or as we call them around here Bernadette braids as opposed to Indian (Kateri) braids! Add the soft lovey kitty in my mom's chair with the natural lighting... LOVE!
Fresh beautiful red roses for Our Lady got me snapping pictures in the peaceful Church all to myself for my hour of prayer! LOVE to see Mary at the foot of the Cross and Jesus there with me in the tabernacle. Prayer goes to such a deep real level here as I share The Prayer of The Church with Fr Denny as I know that he does the Office of Readings and Morning and Evening Prayer, so I smile as I read them on my phone with my dear priest friend - united in prayer is so powerful!
LOVE how she is honored by someone, who loves her with such beautiful roses that tumbled out of the tilma of Juan Diego! A big part of my prayer during my hour is The Rosary - with Mary there carrying my prayers to her Son! "You can't love Mary too much. You can never lover her more than Jesus does!" St Maximilian Kolbe
Grandma spoiling Joy with an ice cream cone - kitten is very interested in ice cream. I am being reminded about having a house kitten - they think people food is the best and turn into beggars as soon as they get a whiff of the food.
I laughed and took way too many pictures of the two of them...
Close but no prize!
Maybe this way will work?
Yummy fingers with that wonderful ice cream on them!A wonderful sign that we are getting back to normal - Holy water to dip my finger in and be reminded of my Baptism - LIFE with Jesus, Mary and The Church with my goal of heaven. The Cross that I sign myself with marks me with how I am to get there - embracing my Cross, dying to self and finding LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!Peter Mayer - Holy Now
This sweetness greeted me! Joy and Snowball!
Couldn't get enough of this soft light filled cuteness! Grandma had to best time planning, doing the work and finally taking about 10 in a good old fashioned photo shoot with 2 such cooperative subjects!
Yes, she is as happy and sweet as she looks and he is that soft and snuggly! A picture to cherish in the memory books! Joy and I talked about her being a big sister in November. She is excited and ready to help mom!
A call from Pat last evening and then a ride with him as he baled... It was bumpy and the air was blowing right on my face, which was appreciated in that humid oven last night.
A new bale we had just dropped out of the baler...
Watching Pat finish up with only a few raindrops... please send us bountiful rains, O Lord and Lady!
Dad made me smile in morning prayer - Psalm 8 - How great is your LOVE, O Lord our God, through all the earth! Yes, dad! So true!
Humbly welcome the word that has been planted in you
and is able to save your souls.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Brother Victor today - I wonder if he is having this heat and humidity?
So great from 4 years ago - Ruth's beautiful porch with Mary, Joy and Paul! Soon a new baby boy to fill their arms and to make our love grow more! Each new life adds to our love!
A cherished memory from 30+ years ago! The 4 older girls with homemade bread dough filled with our homemade apple pie filling! Love Maria's wet sleeve as a sign of washing her hands well in the sink. Nancy had a reveal yesterday that she will be welcoming a baby girl around Christmas! More LOVE coming for our domestic Church/family! Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless and Hallelujah, Barbara
Though this hermit did not have a place in the world, the world had a great place in his heart. Through prayer and penance he offered himself as a sacrifice so that the world would return to God. It is in this light that one sees the importance of the following Eucharistic prayer in his life:
"Father of Truth, behold Your Son a sacrifice pleasing to You, accept this offering of Him who died for me..." On December 16, 1898 while reciting the "Father of Truth" prayer at the Holy Liturgy Sharbel suffered a stroke. He died on Christmas Eve at the age of 70. Through faith this hermit received the Word of God and through love he continued the Ministry of Incarnation.

When Sharbel was canonized (1977), Bsp Francis Zayek, head of the U.S. Diocese of St. Maron, wrote a pamphletentitled “A New Star of the East.” Bishop Zayek wrote:“St. Sharbel is called the second St. Anthony of the Desert, the Perfume of Lebanon, the first Confessor of the East to beraised to the Altars according to the actual procedure of theCatholic Church, the honor of our Aramaic Antiochian Church, and the model of spiritual values and renewal.Sharbel is like a Cedar of Lebanon standing ineternal prayer, on top of a mountain.”
