Double Sacraments bring JOY!/The Truth means a battle against falsehood and lies!/"You cannot serve God and mammon."

Sweet 5 year old Joy Jean asked mom for some grandma time here at my home.  She has a list of things we share like a tea party - it was a chocolate tea party with some ice tea on the porch.  Grandma went a bit crazy with pictures in her pink-peach skirt and all the pink and peach colored begonias and pillow!
You might say that I have her trained, and I do promise that we did share tea and conversation on a beautiful day on the porch.
Pouring the tea as a proper hostess complete with cream and sugar with our tiny plastic spoons.  Joy says that she enjoys hot tea better.

Probably one of the biggest reasons she loves to come to grandma's house - to see her former kitten Iggy/Ignatius, who is now officially fat according to her.  She encouraged him to join us at the tea party...
He went through the railing and looked cute rolling in the grass, so if he didn't join us - he entertained us.
Tea party and time with her big former kitty - check!
A photo story that just gave me such a special gift!  Paul and Simon repairing my flagpole!
How my father loved to watch the wind and the flag and the clouds in the sky when he lived her with me in our farm monastery 2 years ago during covid.
Dad lived an entire growing season on the farm and we watched the corn field grow a month earlier than this late year, but with the heat we are having these next few days it should do some major growing!
Thank you so much Simon and Paul!!  I love to see the wind and soon cows and calves will be up eating the grass in front of the barn as they have opened the path for them to come up here.  My dad got very excited to see that while he was here!
So beautiful on a windy day in a sea of green!
An unexpected suprise and gift!  Don't worry the barn is slated to get painted this summer along with the white fence.  Then it will truly be a show place once again.
2 years ago when dad lived here we would share religious life in his 44th year as a permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church! We would sit on the porch to pray the chaplet and Rosary every day at 3p.  I had a wonderful begonia that year to enjoy as we pray and of course the flag and the sky and the crop growing in the fields all around us!  So to have these to enjoy 2 years later - I am filled with JOY!
Stunning in color and blossoms!
My prayer space this year!
Our cow sign got blown down, but it looks like it found a new home...

Time at the farm - Joy likes to feed her baby brother Thomas.  He will be 7 months tomorrow and grandma gets to care for Joy and Thomas along with David, Rose and Luke while mom and dad work a TEC retreat for the two oldest, Simon and Mary.  Our family is hugely excited for this time of coming closer to Jesus!

A requested of sweet Regina Maria on her 6 month birthday on the 13th!
So sweet and precious!
This guy, 3 year old Jude Dale is out on the East Coast visiting his new cousin along with mom, grandma and grandpa!  It looks like he is getting daily mass in too!
So handsome and happy with St Joseph.
I am overjoyed to have this sweetness to share today!  A double Sacrament of my brother Dan's grandchildren, Charlie and Cecilia!  Charlie received his First Holy Communion and his new baby sister, Cecilia was baptized!
These are bookends of a total of 5 children for Sam and Kara.  When you are open to LIFE there are special blessings that come with a large and growing family... double Sacraments!  For our family we have had this happen twice for Ruth and Paul... Baby Joy being baptized in the midst of her brother, Big Dave's First Communion mass for him and probably 50 others!  The message Father Paul was relaying to the parents - "I baptized your children, why haven't I seen them at church since?"
With the grandparents sharing their JOY!

Simon newly confirmed with his Godson, baby brother Thomas who was baptized shortly after Simon was confirmed!  Sharing 2 Sacraments will bind them together to share their Faith and Family and Farm!

David and Joy 5 years ago on their First Communion shared with her Baptism!
Twice they have had siblings sharing Sacraments as their families share their Faith/Family/Farm - our greatest JOY is to share those!

I love this today after Pat shared with me this amazing Truth filled Commencement Address at Franciscan University in Steubenville!

Dr. Peter Kreeft | 10 Lies of Contemporary Culture | Commencement Address at Franciscan University - Bing video   I hope that you will take time to listen to his witty Truth!

Light has battled the darkness!

Oh my!!!   LOVE her and this!
The papal motto of St JPII was Totus Tuus (totally yours).  This statement of trust in the Blessed Virgin Mary is not an unimportant factor in reflecting on the life of this great pope, John Paul, following the Marian piety of St Louis de Montfort, entrusted all his prayers and works to the Blessed Virgin Mary.  We would do well to entrust all our cares and our very lives to her, for she is the "safest, easiest, shortest and most perfect way"to Jesus and to sanctity (Treatise on the True Devotion to Mary)
Father's Day on Sunday along with Corpus Christi Sunday - miss you dad and thank you for saying "yes" to so much LIFE!
Faith/Family/Farm!!!
Oh, so much Truth here from St Therese!
Nancy's ministry!
Catholic Sprouts  7 million downloads!

True Food!  Jesus in the Eucharist - His Body and Blood!
Mowing by Our Lady
Many "Hail Marys" on the lawnmower especially when I am about to tip over mowing the sides of the ditches!
This is what gives me hay fever - grass that has gone to seed!  Pat said that his tractor was covered with the yellow pollen as he mowed hay yesterday.
My eyes itch just looking at this picture - soon the cows and calves will eat this to their joy.
I promise the barn will be painted this year!
So True!
Many wonderful reflections on Corpus Christi!

I am so in love with Jesus and Mary and all the Church gives us to love and adore them!  The Body and Blood allow Jesus to come and dwell in me more richly!    John just called and we are going to have so much time to share together in the next few days!  I am super happy and excited to share mass, breakfast, his play, adoration, and now swimmercize.  So happy to have time with my kids sharing our Faith!  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 51 - 34 here and 17 in heaven!
Pope Benedict XVI so good today about Corpus Christi!
Another sweet sharing from dad's man , Brother Victor-Antoine!  I am lifted up each day by both my parents and all they left behind for me!
