"It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35

Three year old Therese is so loving towards her newborn cousin, Gus.  The morning he was to come home from the hospital, Gus's two aunts went to a second hand store with their daughters to find some newborn clothes for little Augustine.  While there the two cousins had found some little plush purses shaped like animals for $2 each...
Unknown to her aunt - little Therese had found a special toy for little Gus that she wanted to get for him too.  Her mother gave her a choice to get herself the purse or to get the toy for her new little cousin.  Therese had chosen to get him the toy, and proudly and excitedly brought it home to share with him.
Both of his parents thought that he was too little for the toys, but after they had gone through the wash... little Therese showed them to him and they were 3 sizes of fabric animals shaped in rings...

She placed the little purple and green cow on his chest and he reached out with his hands and held onto it very sweetly.  Therese was delighted and we were so happy for her that her gift seemed to be just right for him.  Therese your thoughtful gift is just right for little Gus!

Then she gave him the yellow and red lion and he held onto that too!  Therese was richly blessed for being generous and thinking of her little new cousin ahead of herself!  Such a lesson to us all.  Thank you Therese for being a kind and sharing little girl... I think that sharing your gift with Gus and watching him enjoy holding onto his first toy was much more fun for you than that purse, which probably would have been forgotten in some corner in no time.

Bless-bless, Barb
Acts 20:35

New International Version (NIV)
35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
