Living as the image of God; Created for JOY and LOVE

Therese in DC with a great painting by Giotto... A powerful encounter with true greatness!

I am having the great joy of listening to the keynote address at the World meeting of Families in Philadelphia given by Bishop Robert Barron... he just shared the Truth that as the Family goes so goes the country!  He spoke of how we need to be the domestic Church where we share The Truth and then send forth to chase away the "wrong praise" or worshiping things other than Jesus, and make a difference in the world of confusion, sin and darkness.  Send LIGHTS into the world!  I loved it when he said that we are all white and red but not pink!  We don't dilute or muddle nor do we want to be mediocre in our Faith life!  "We are all called to be Saints!"

Another great one from Maria and Ruth in DC together a few days ago!   Love the pink girls!!  Shortly the Pope will be landing there... I have EWTN on and am watching with great anticipation!  It is also wonderful to be able to hear the speakers at the Family gathering in Philly, too!

Life is truly a gift!  A very touching article about the brief sweet life of a baby girl with Downs Syndrome as well as a brain tumor - only expected to live for a few days or weeks, yet loved and wanted and given her brief time with her family at home...  http://liveactionnews.org/parents-choose-life-daughter-diagnosed-prenatally-cancer-syndrome/

Visiting with a friend yesterday who had spent the weekend at the deathbed of her sister while holding her newborn grandchild... "The cycle of life was so powerfully felt - the grief mixed with the wonder and joy of newness of life."  Without the pain and suffering in our lives - the good would not be nearly as wonderful.  If life were all roses they would lose their wonderfulness.  Have you ever noticed that when you are eating something wonderful tasting or smells heavenly - it can become dull after eating a lot?  I am thinking that I have experienced this with Doritos... ooops - you caught me!
Simon with his dinosaur from grandpa and grandma Lanoue for his birthday.

The Pope has arrived!!!!  So excited to see him set foot on the American soil!

I have tears in my eyes and excitement welling up in me!

Jesus, may this visit of the Holy Father make a difference in this world and our country... Jesus, may we hear the word of God and act on it, and be your family!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Bishop Barron was a joy to see and hear from the Family Meeting.  Bless-bless, Barbara Luke

LIFE is what brings JOY and LOVE into our world!
