In an hour Pat and I will be on the road heading to a family wedding in the Cities. Once w get away from the farm and hit the road we can relax and enjoy each other! Pat is a wonderful conversationalist, and he is very interested in everything under the sun. As John says about his dad... he is a doer of things. We thought that we might be gone now, but with the State Fair we realized that we could make it to the wedding today, and within a few days we were added! Thank you, Melissa and Eric!
John spent a lot of time on his knees this morning helping me mount this very special family heirloom. We talked about how has been over grandma's bed since Gerard died in 1996, and how it needed to be over our bed and no where else, and then I found the prefect double picture of The Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Miraculous Heart of Mary with Pat and I on our wedding day! It is super special to be doing this today on many levels, but so cool that we would be honoring St John Eudes on this his special day in The Church!
John and I had just done morning prayer together, and Saturdays are also devoted to The Blessed Virgin Mary! Since Lourdes early in John's battle against brain cancer, he is head over heels with me in love with Mary! How I adore sharing that with him, and watching him lovingly place this over our bed was so special for me to hold in my heart!
Yes, this is 21 years old! I also needed to keep it up out of the reach of my many little ones/grandchildren!
I am pretty excited and wanting to share my JOY with all this day! I love so much my time each day with my Spiritual Mother and it was thrilling to be reminded of how she was given to us/the disciples that he loves at the foot of the cross, and we are to bring her into our domestic Church/home/family! Pat, John and I so love to have her with us, and those beads/the rosary is my constant companion of prayer throughout my days!
Knowing of my mother-in-law and her many prayers for us, her family, I have the intention that "we all can get along" which was her heartfelt and prayerful wish. There is no doubt that she is doing so mightily on her way to heaven forever with Jesus and Mary!
Jesus, today in the Gospel you reminded us that we are to approach you as little children/humble/childlike, and this certainly was true of your young virginal humble loving Mother. May we follow her example to us in our homes as we interact with LOVE with one another. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Honoring his wonderful grandmother, and most of all his wonderful Spiritual Mother of God! "Getting to know more about the Immaculate heart is really helping me to better appreciate how Mary intercedes for us, and brings out needs to Jesus' Sacred Heart which is LOVE!" John this morning in the midst of this most powerful family prayer in action! Bless-bless, Barbara Luke
Another miraculous thing... we still sleep in a double bed! An antique bed from my parents, and their original bed from when they were first married. Mine since 1995 when they moved from Taylors Falls to Colman, SD. So mine for just about 22 years now. Pat likes the posts to put his clothes on at the end of the day... at least they are not on the floor right?
