"The Queen gives all the graces! Where would I have been without her as I battled cancer?!"

It is super fun to pray with John through the summer!  He is usually around for breakfast and prayer before he heads off to be a life guard at the Y.  He is currently in the midst of a daily devotion to Mary, and impresses me with his new excitement at what he is learning about His Spiritual Mother.  I had to start with this picture taken in France on our return there in 2011 for Hallel's first vows, and just being a few hours away we always go to Lourdes!

John had fallen head over heels in love with her after his second chemo, and we miraculously ended up in France for Hallel to take her habit and change her name!  We went to Lourdes just days after Hallel had come out in her blue habit for the first time.  The transformation brought tears to our eyes and great joy to our hearts and souls.  http://familysoulstory.blogspot.com/p/johns-cancer-stories.html  His healing includes her waters of Lourdes, which he had them pour over his head..."That is where I need the healing."

Just out of the baths with the healing waters on his head in August 2009!

This morning John made sure that we had time to pray before he left, and shared with me that he had just read about Mary being the mediatrix of all graces we are given!  "Where would I have been without her caring for me and taking me to her Son?"  John had so much peace throughout his battle, and the care of this Queen Mother, but foremost Mother of heaven and earth is huge in that!

“It is true that Our Lady is Queen of Heaven and earth, but
at the same time she is more Mother than Queen.” - St. Therese of Lisieux
Mary, our Mother, Queen of Heaven,
pray for us!
LOVE is in his heart for her!

John at a farmhouse fundraiser for him early in his battle.
Love this of Ruth with her two youngest girls on Sunday with the lush landscape due to our monsoon season around here!  The eclipse day was drowned with another couple inches of rain!  It was fabulous to see the bright sun today, and feel the clear air - cool and none of that awful humidity!

It seems that we are starting a canning project soon, so I am now needing to get busy with that!  It looks like tomato paste today!  Imagine the wonderful smells and all the little helpers eager to do their numerous jobs in canning for 6 families!  Some of my favorite days on the farm, and now in the same house I canned with my kids - canning with Ruth and hers!  The best!
