Miraculous food/the seeds watered with our tears!

We are all so enjoying our newest granddaughter, John's Goddaughter #3 along with David his Godson, Joy.  We all marvel at how sweet happy and easy she is as #6 in Ruth and Paul's crazy busy farm family.  She is just over 4 months now and has added sucking her fingers to sooth herself to her many abilities.  She put herself to sleep at mass yesterday using those fingers.  She awoke smiling at her Godfather and grandma...
Over Uncle John's shoulder...
John took Joy over to visit the statue of Mary and Joy looked up at her with intent interest and a precious smile on her sweet little face.  Yes, Joy, she is your Mother of heaven and earth!
The week of the County Fair is upon us, and the anticipation and busyness is building for us.  My sharing here will be short if at all.

John and I were blessed with sharing morning prayer in the Office this morning, but now he is off helping his dad with all the details.  In the midst of our petitions John prayed for "my brothers in heaven" and we both were wiping tears.  We spoke of how different life would have been with them here, and how we must need prayers and a reason to keep our eyes and hearts focused on heaven.  John asked me to paint a picture of him with his brothers -  6 with a sister at the end - and I am thrilled at the prospect..."It will be a group of big men now as they are both sides of you - two older and two younger with a set of twins in there, and one between Ruth and Nancy and the girl on the end.  I prayed so hard that I could just have one survive after you, so that all would know that I didn't quit after I had my boy."
"That lady is lovely and she loves me and wants to help me know and love her Son, Jesus."  Little Joy will always know her Spiritual Mother!

The Gospel today is the feeding of the 5,000, and I was struck by all that was left over - overflowing in what he gives us each day!!!  Jesus in His Word and Sacrament!  Mary helping us come to him and serve with a "yes" to all that we are asked to do... in the name of Jesus!  Serving without counting the cost!  Yes!  We take up those baskets of miraculous food left over and share it with all around us!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barb
"Oh, I love her so much!" Joy
Evening in the pasture with hubby!  Trying to say "yes" when he asks me to do things with him.  Even some time in the pasture on a 4wheeler can be special.

"To maintain a joyful family requires much from both the parents and the children. Each member of the family has to become in a special way the servant of the others."
-Pope St John Paul II

Sometime it is joyful service, while other times it is just service.
...
But always it is an endless line of little things done with great love.

For these little acts of love are the very foundation of our families...and in that the whole world.

Because truly, through small things, greatness!
