Mary was hugely a part of my life, as though she sensed that it would be a short life... she lived it with gusto!
A fun picture of a group of us boating - Mary and I side by side in the front. It looks like a selfie of today, but my mom probably took it on the front of the boat... selfies were not invented yet!
Being here in the quiet comfortable home of my parents always holds so much for me... yes, they are still together in their own home together/so amazing and miraculous! The conversations are deep and prayerful, the prayer is constant, and the stories are filling my heart with LOVE/LIGHT/LIFE! (Dad shared with me the last words of St Elizabeth of the Trinity this morning. "I am going to the LIGHT, to LOVE, to LIFE." She is truly my saint in heaven along with so many! He had shared her with me a few years back as he came across these words in his daily devotions, and knew that I used these three over and over - Blessings of the Daily by Brother Victor-Antoine... he has read this book over and over for about the last 10 years, and gleaned a lot of blessings that he has shared with me. St Elizabeth's writing truly speaks what is deep in my soul! Mom just handed me two of her books! Wow! So much to grasp and hold close to my heart burning with love for The Church and every last thing about it! )
An attempt at a selfie yesterday with mom and dad at Mary's grave... We visited to pray for our dead there including our Mary...
Mom and dad with their Mary... she died at age 28 on July 3, 1986. She will be forever young, and would have been 59 years old this year.
Mary is 6 1/2 years younger than me, and we shared a very close bond which carried over to when I was pregnant with my second daughter, Nancy, and was on bedrest due to high blood pressure... Mary came to the farm and fell in love with farm life! She then found her farmer, married, had a daughter and died two years later.
My parents sharing the rosary on the road as we go to pray in the cemetery for our dead! Praying for them keeps them close to me, and Mary is on a decade of my chaplet of Divine Mercy which I use to pray for my dead. I had just prayed that along with my 10 decades of the rosary as I traveled up my 4 hours from the farm to see my parents!
My chapel on wheels with Jesus and his Mother in my inner chapel as I pray, and adore, and love,
Do you not know that you are the temple of God,
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? I Corinthians 3 Yes! I do know that, and that is my place of happiness in this crazy world!
St Anne's church where my sister was married, her daughter baptized and grew up in The Church and where Mary was buried with the cemetery where she is buried and we prayed for our dead yesterday!
Lord, there is so much today! I am sitting here with books and articles and conversation with my parents surrounding me with our shared faith and love of you and your Bride, The Church! What JOY and excitement fill me to the brim and overflowing! I am so filled with LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT as I embrace my cross and drag/carry it down the narrow path helped by my wonderful parents that share this journey of Faith and Family with me so deeply and powerfully. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Surrounded by Our Lady and the Saints - icons my mom has made over the years and icons as gifts too!
Mom writing to an editor about their website - http://www.catholicdiagramteacher.com/. Dad paying bills and me sitting here working on my blog as we share the Faith interwoven through out. Mom and I discussed the differences in our inner temples as contemplatives. Both called to marriage, but contemplative at heart and soul and mind. She shared that her deep Protestant roots make some Catholic sharings hard for her to understand... "like they are written in a different language."
http://ewtnnews.com/catholic-news/US.php?id=15837 About Solanus Casey, who will be beatified next week in Detroit! He is huge for us in our battle against brain cancer and John finding healing!

#ChurchBeauty Today, November 9th, is the feast of the Dedication of the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome. It marks the dedication, in 324 A.D., of the cathedral church of Rome after Constantine's Edict of Milan granted religious freedom to Christians.
It is the oldest and ranks first among the four Papal Basilicas, and is the official ecclesiastical chair of the Bishop of Rome, the Pope. A Latin inscription in the church reads: "Omnium urbis et orbis ecclesiarum mater et caput," translated, "Of all the churches in the city and the world, the mother and head." Its universal celebration is a sign of love for and union with the See of St. Peter, Vicar of Christ
