2nd Sunday of Advent - a Rose for Our Lady of Guadalupe/"In his arms he gathers the lambs, carrying them in his bosom"

Awaiting all the roses which will surround her at the noon mass today!  I had to have my Rose again come up and be a Rose for Our Lady of Guadalupe.  She knows that grandma when grandma wants a picture she had better just smile and get it over with!
Looking like a beautiful rose in her new Christmas dress of red!

Why roses all around Our Lady?  Because when Juan Diego opened up his cape there she was imprinted on it and roses tumbled out in winter!  A true miracle... his Tilma with her still survives in the church in Mexico!  500 years later!

With Maria arriving with her 5 in just days and the excitement building for my family Christmas with all of our grandchildren... I had such an amazing time buying each one an outfit and plans for many pictures!  These words jumped out from the first reading at how much Jesus loves the little, the humble, the childlike and the children and we are called to be open to life and raise them according to the Faith/The Church!
"Like a shepherd he feeds his flock;
in his arms he gathers the lambs,
carrying them in his bosom,
and leading the ewes with care."  Isaiah 40
Carrying them in his bosom brings me to the place of his love for us and the Truth of his amazing word and Sacrament there for us to have be comforted and fed with what we need to evangelize!
A memorial for mom and all the others that have passed in the last year just a day before her anniversary of her death!  I was told that grandson, Maximilian, will be named and a ornament in his name next year.

St John the Baptist in the Gospel today... "repentance" means changing to please the one who loves us into happiness.  Reminding me that I will want to get to reconciliation as part of my preparation for welcoming Jesus more into my heart, and home!
A special keepsake as she celebrates her second Christmas in heaven.

My rosary is calling me... Jesus, with your Mother always at your side, we are filled with wonder and joy at this Advent time of year.  We long to love and serve you better.  Thank you for all we are given to help us on the journey!  Our Lady of Guadalupe, we celebrate your miraculous presence in our world and consecrate The Americas to you!  How we need your love and comfort .  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Juan Diego. Juan Diego's imprinted tilma with the image of Our Blessed Mother still remains perfectly preserved and displayed at the "Basilica of Guadalupe", one of the world's most-visited #Catholic shrines. Our Lady of Guadalupe Pray for Us!

"Night is falling dear Mother, long day is o’er;
Before thy image I am kneeling once more
To thank thee for keeping me safe this day,
To ask thee this night to keep evil away.
Many times have I fallen Mother dear;
Many graces neglected since last I knelt here;
Wilt thou not in pity, my own Mother Mild,
Ask Jesus to pardon the sins of thy child?
I am going to sleep now, day’s work is done;
Its hours and its moments have passed one by one.
God Who will judge me, has counted them all;
He has numbered each grace, He has counted each fall;
In His book they are written against the last day.
Oh! Mother Ask Jesus to wash them away.
For one drop of His Blood for sinners was spilt,
Is sufficient to cleanse the world of its guilt.
And if er’ the dawn I should draw my last breath;
The sleep I take be the long sleep of death;
Be near me Mother for dear Jesus’ sake.
When at eternity shore my soul shall awake."
Amen.
