This is all I want for Christmas!!! I am opening this over and over and each time I am filled with such joy and happiness to have our wonderful family together for some precious days. Yes, two members as missing, and we missed them a lot. One is deciding where we will be on Christmas Day - our little Sister Hallel in KC has set our sights on a trip down there to get a real hug for Christmas from her and our Family of The Lamb/her wonderful Community of the Lamb! We will have more time with Nancy and family, too!
It was delightful to have Bobbi come and meet my family at CCC, and they get to know her a bit! The excitement is building for us to gather around them on June 2nd!
They were here last night sharing some relaxing time with us... supper and Christmas shows. She now knows why we love our CCC weekend so much as it is when our family gathers from far and wide and that is our heart's desire and all we really care about for Christmas!
My family!!!
I have done a head count 3 times and got 90, 91, and 92... so lets just call it around 90! That means that about 30 are missing, and that sounds pretty good for a family this size! We added 6 new members (5 babies and one by marriage - welcome Eric!) over the year, and there will be at least one added by marriage (Bobbi) and a new baby by next year! Stopping from growing is not a option! I am so blessed to have both my parents still, and pray for more years! Over 120 this year and approaching 130!
My champion for LIFE and raising LIGHTS!

We are contemplating doing Sunday mass/4th Sunday of Advent here at 8a, then jumping in the car and going to KC for Christmas mass at the little Monastery/Lumen Christi in KC with Hallel and Nancy and family! Now that is a celebration extraordinary!
Our wonderful farm family that makes it possible for Pat and I to take off for KC for Christmas and then on to the Cities to have some celebration with Pat's siblings and family. Thanks, Ruth and Paul and family! They have fake plans to go to KC to see Hallel and the Little Sisters and Little Brothers while staying with Nancy and Billy and kids over New Years! So excited for them to have some time with Hallel while she is here for the year! She met Joy shortly after she was born in May, but she has grown and changed a lot over these 7 months!
Baby Jesus and the 3 girls... they will be good friends as the other groups of cousins have continued to be over the years. I love that the girls have had babies together within a years' time.
Thanks Ruth for taking these with your nice camera and letting me have them to use... no better gift!
As Advent is in it's last week and we are filled more and more with His coming... the amazing Gospel today of the Annunciation fills us with the warmth of love... we are reminded that Mary conceived Jesus in her heart through Faith first by St Augustine. This is so true for us as we approach this Holy night... the Vigil leading up to his birth. We have no doubt that the Community will be up into the wee morning hours anticipating and rejoicing at The LIGHT entering the world of sin and darkness in the tiny human baby, Jesus Christ!
Our 7 granddaughters with the baby Jesus.
Where were the 8 grandsons for their pictures? They had dump trucks to haul presents and footballs to catch and lots of running around to do...Patrick did stop by for some with his group - the 5 year olds! Jesus is the reason for the season!
May we also welcome Christ into our hearts by Faith and discover that we have a small slice of heaven here on earth when we can share that as a family!
Crafts are a big hit!
My brother, Dan made the nativity scene and I made the candle holder nativity scene! And yes, that was the snowy beautiful scene in Wisconsin last weekend. To look out at the brown here, which Pat loves for winter, is not near so beautiful...
I lit mine with a candle in it while we shared night prayer last night... John and Bobbi, Pat and I... the best! How it brings the joy back that we shared with the kids during Advent in our nest years of having the kids here with us. To light the advent candles - one more with each 4 weeks of Advent - and read about the Saints, sing hymns, say a decade of the rosary, and the Christmas story from Luke 1... now we have the office on our phones and that makes sharing prayer - morning, evening, night much easier and has added to our prayer time now, as we share the prayer of The Church with all those in convents, monasteries, priests, brothers and deacons with their faithful wives... So powerful to think about all those prayers combined and lifting as incense to our Lord!
My deacon dad and his faithful wife... how I love my mornings with my parents sharing morning prayer... they from their well worn prayer books turning here and there and me on my phone! "A hedge of protection" around our family now 120+ strong! We are lifted up by their daily prayers!
Joy was not afraid of Santa, but she smiles all the time!
I am deeply moved when John sings these words from night prayer;
Protect us, Lord, as we stay awake; watch over us as we sleep, that awake, we may keep watch with Christ, and asleep, rest in his peace. (said before and after the Canticle of Simeon)
He shared that for the year he was in seminary they would find time to pray together only before bed in the shall chapel in their hall, and these wonderful holy young men would together chant these words. I can hear that powerfully when he sings it! Lord, thank you for the men listening to your call, and for showing John his path into marriage!
Jesus, may we welcome you more fully and entirely into our hearts and souls with this Advent and Christmas! May families find healing and LOVE all around them and most especially in their hearts filled with YOU! Come Holy Spirit and fill us with LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
So much LOVE! I am over joyed to share my faith with my family and my prayers each day for each one of them is that they will always ask Jesus to show them his plan for them - Jesus is in control, and we are called to embrace/carry/drag our Most Cherished Cross and follow Jesus! Bless-bless, Barbara Lynn Mary Luke
Patrick, too!!!!
Therese...
Evangeline Mary, too!
Little Dave rounds out the 5 from Washington State to Wisconsin!
Minus their Joseph!
They really came and it was the best!!!Goodbyes to my parents in their home. It all worked out so well for me to stay there on both ends coming and going to the airport with visits to Joe's parents on each end, too! We missed Joseph though!
Beautiful and peaceful time in the midst of huge family gatherings at my parents wonderful home.. still together after almost 70 years!
Beautiful tree and love our talks!!!
I am so happy that Bobbi got to meet my parents in this special family time we are blessed with called Cross Christmas Camp - CCC! This was our 32 year, and it has only gotten better and better. In the last few years we have added a daily rosary and a dance with finger lights after Santa! We have now gone to Camp Wapogasset in Amery, WI for 7 years and it is wonderful in all ways! Thank you Lord for blessing our Family sharing our Faith!

Love this!!! Such a wonderful Truth!

The Viet Nam Memorial

“Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother. Love the Madonna and pray the rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.”
