My day has vanished due to snow and concern about getting to town. It seems that if I don't get to this before too late in the day... my thoughts dry up and blow away in the wind.

This says it all!!! Such a loving call and we pray that those contemplating taking the life of their unborn child will listen and respond with love - giving them life!
Today being the Visitation in the Gospel with the words of Elizabeth which are Holy Spirit inspired as they recognize Christ in the womb...
When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting,
the infant leaped in her womb,
and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit,
cried out in a loud voice and said,
"Most blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb. " Luke 1
It really puts love and JOY into the words of the "Hail Mary" and comes from our inner chapel where the Holy Spirit is at work in our lives!
Two of the 5 new babies born into my extended family in the last year! LIFE is to protected and cherished no matter the cost from conception to natural death!
So happy that Therese and her family could come and join us for our family Christmas!
Some special thoughts about how Mary's being "with child" is the model for our being "with Christ"
"After Holy Communion, we carry Christ within us
in the sacramental species just as Mary carried Him
in His own species for nine months. ...
Pregnancy in particular is dense with spiritual lessons:
being 'with child' is the model of being 'with Christ'
in faith, hope, love, in humble service and deepest prayer.
Having come, with the Father and the Holy Spirit,
to make His home within me, Christ wants to remain
sub tectum meum, 'under my roof',
the king and centre of my heart.
Obedience to God, formed by loving contemplation and flowering
into loving action, is unending pregnancy, perpetual birth."

A kiss from her daddy!
Jesus, how we long to carry you always within our hearts! We are cherished by you and in return give that to those around us - most especially those in our domestic Church/family. May we love and respect those that are the closest to us in our family. "Arise, my beloved, my beautiful one, and come!" Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke
