"For he is our peace... one Body through the cross... grows into a temple sacred in the Lord" Ephesians 2

Picking up some branches coming back from the mailbox in the warm sun... I looked in my garden by the house and was surprised to find this sweet rose blooming her heart out!  Many buds still to open and an arrangement formed on my table with prayers for the harvest... Our Lady of Fatima back from Portugal from Nancy and Bill last April, a hydrangea from my mom's garden and the wall of family fills me with all the many graces and blessings that surround my life on the farm.

"The LORD himself will give his benefits;
our land shall yield its increase."  This line from the Psalm today spoke to me of how our bountiful harvest is coming out with the hard work of our farmers after our prayers for sunshine have been answered.  Thank you, Lord, and keep the farmers safe and sane!
LOVE!!!  Faith/Family/Farm!

A friend asking for prayers and the peace to trust and accept as her cancer returns... these words from Ephesians 2 today spoke to my heart;
"For he is our peace,...one Body, through the cross,
putting that enmity to death by it.
He came and preached peace to you who were far off
and peace to those who were near,
for through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father."
How we long to find that peace... for me praying the rosary is huge!!!  Mary brings us to her Son, for he is our peace!
A surprise trip to town this morning to start my day led to some glorious time in The Adoration chapel... in the midst of our busy lives this is a gift indeed and brought these beautiful works of St Paul to the Ephesians so deeply alive in me!

"So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners,
but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones
and members of the household of God,
built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.
Through him the whole structure is held together
and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord;
in him you also are being built together
into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit."

It was all too good... I had to share it all!! I love the sacred temple filled with the Holy Spirit both in reality with Jesus before me in the monstrance, but also my inner chapel filled with more and more Jesus and less and less of me!
Full moon, hundreds of bales and the light of the baler last night.  I am heading over to be with the kids so Ruth and Paul can once again make more bales...

I had a delightful time in the car moving kids around last night as Ruth was in the tractor...I was just sharing with Ruth that I laughed and laughed at Simon and Mary and Rose.  Simon went to try out for stage hand and ended up getting the role of the villain in Robin Hood!  "I decided to face my fears, and I think they wanted someone with a deep voice and tall for the part of Prince John."  Rose kept telling him that he was a bad guy, and her role of a skunk would save Robin Hood.  Too cute!!! I guess this grandma has a play to go to at the end of the week.  Ruth told me that Simon also sings a solo in his role and with his beautiful voice that is a hint to why he was given this role also.
Posing with the bales behind them during their supper break in the field last evening... Ruth and Paul are farmers together much more than I ever was.

Paul wrote these sweet words about his hard working wife...
"It’s that time of year again to post the picture of the lady I chase around the field with her corn stalk rake in my baler! Love you Ruth and know that all your work on the farm, with the kids, and in the community are appreciated. I’m a lucky guy!"
Lunch yesterday with tomato and peppers from the garden made me thankful for our life filled with food form the garden and making food for 7 families!

Jesus speaks to us in the Gospel today... so much to glean from the mass today as we are led to the Truth and living it out in our lives as we die more to self so that Jesus may live in us!
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Gird your loins and light your lamps
and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding,
ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks.
Blessed are those servants
whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival..."Luke 12:35
Lord, how i long to be ready for you in all that you show me with each new day!  I love you with my all and may I give without counting the cost.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
When I picked up Simon from play practice and then Mary from Knowledge Bowl... the two of them in the car on the 15 minute ride home were so fun!  Simon was chatty about things in his mind and going on at length, and Mary wanted to share about her extra credit project in front of her class.  She would say; "Shhhhh, Simon."  and he would quiet down so that she could share her cute funny story; "My report was on sexed semen, and all the kids in my class were either pale, or shaking or embarrassed or holding their heads in their hands and not wanting to say that they are my friend...'Aren't we learning about this at the end of 8th grade, Mary?'  'No you are learning about it right now!'  The hard part was that another kid that is a farm kid and has done all this with pigs was sick that day.  Everyone else looked at me like i was nuts!"  Just those words coming from sweet Mary's mouth..."Sexed Semen"  They are familiar around here on the farm, but not anywhere else in this civilized world!
Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke
