Gone from the farm 32 1/2 hours... 14 hours on the road looking at flooding, 8 hours sleeping, 10 1/2 hours Faith and Family supreme!

The Victorious Lamb over sin and death..."Wounded, I will never cease to love." Motto of the Community of the Lamb, and of all those longing to follow Christ into heaven forever!

Over head and in our hearts as we strive to for Jesus to dwell more and more in our inner temple as we die to self so that His Spirit may dwell in us richly!  Much today from both St Paul to the Galatians and Jesus in Luke 11 about the Holy Spirit coming to those who ask!
If you then, who are wicked,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit
to those who ask him?"

A farmer taking a brief window to visit two daughters in KC and beseech the Lord for sun and dyring weather!  We traveled 7 hours each way and saw flooding in the fields all the way!  We returned to over 3 inches in the rain guage for this past week!  Cold, wet and miserable and all our corn yet to harvest!

Mass and Adoration shared with Our Community of the Lamb with our Little Sister Hallel here in the U.S. for another year!

The gift of sharing the hour of Adoration that Nancy has at Lumen Christi each week with her two youngest.  Such a powerful witness to her children that Jesus is alive and real!!!  Jesus on the altar and such a real part of our time there...

Leaving at 8:30a on Tuesday and arriving home at 6p on Wednesday = 32 1/2 hours away, 14 of which were in the car with Pat and Louis L'amour books on CD and looking with sinking hearts at all the water standing in the field between here and there.  Lakes where fields should be and irrigaters sitting tn those lakes!

Sleeping 8 hours in Nancy's small but wonderful bed in her guest room, mass and supper that I had toiled over the day before and brought along in the trunk along with garden vegetables, many jars of our home canned food, apples, apple dessert made from our homemade pie filling, 6 pounds of bar-b-que, and potato salad, and coca cola to go around (even in France there is coke to drink on special occasions!)  Knowing that it was a farewell party for our dear sweet sisters of 10 years... they each had acquired their American citizenship in the last year after 10 years here!

Three family members will be heading to other foundations in mid November... Pat saw a window to come and say goodbye and took it!... He does not allow the grass to grow under his feet and is always game for a trip no matter how crazy it may seem!  We are safely back and filled with warm and wonderful memories of our 10 waking hours with our wonderful family in KC of Nancy and Susan/Hallel!

Hallel putting the food we brought away... we even brought a cooler of meat for them as we do for all of our other children and their families!  LOVE that we can share our food and a taste of home with Hallel after 10 years away in Europe living.  Hallel made me smile when she remembered this large pink bowl from her childhood and years on the farm!  I love to know of her fond memories of growing up on the farm!

It was kind of heart warming to hear one of the Little Sisters that had originally lived in Nebraska say about our farm cooking that "it is good to eat American again!"  I also brought some of our sweet corn that we froze in the middle of our craziness of getting ready for moving our Mountain to France and the county fair looming on the horizon for Ruth and kids!

My food and the food that Hallel and Agape (the sister from Nebraska) had begged for that day... LOVE!

Empty boxes and empty jars return home to be filled again for our Family of the Lamb!  We love to make our food for our 7 families now that John and Bobbi are #7 and will add a new little one in March along with Nancy having #5 and Maria #6!  It looks like Ruth and I in her canning kitchen have our work cut out for us... good thing she has 6 kids to help out!  We love our canning days, and it was wonderful to have Bill and Nancy home to make pie filling with a total of 10 kids!

Berna and Rose are hard working girls indeed!

They are just 6 months apart in age... Rose will be 6 1/2 and Berna will be 6 in a month!  They were learning to use a knife to cut apples for our 85 quarts of apple pie filling a few weekends ago!

Our family time was precious with our two families in KC... we shared breakfast before school and I got to French braid Berna's hair before she went to Catholic School!  Love to do my girl's hair after having 4 girls to start our family!

Off to school in their uniforms!  Gus in first grade and Berna in Kindergarten... just a couple blocks from their home.

 I just spent a long time hunting for these pictures taken in October of 2008 when the original 6 little Sisters from our new foundation in KC came to see us on the farm for the first and only time on their way to St Paul!  We had just had breakfast over at Ruth's home/ which is now Pat and mine...  4 year old Simon had looked around at all of us and spoke these powerful and true words... "We are all family!"  LOVE and Truth!  Truly the Holy Spirit was in our midst!

On the barn was the sign by Paul... "Welcome Sisters of the Lamb!"

Can you imagine what the bus driver thought at such a sight to behold!?  We are so lucky and blessed to have our family include these poor sisters of the Lamb!  Little indeed!

Mary was only 2 and the dog was jumping and the wind was blowing as usual... they got a taste of life on the prairie indeed!

Little Sister Stephanie filling jars with applesauce.  She is from Luxembourg and has lived here for 10 years and recently became an American citizen.  She will be going in mid November to live in their Community in Poland and learn yet another language.  A new experience lies ahead for her, and we will miss her in our lives here in the U.S.

Benedict has also been here for 10 years and her next home will be with the foundation in rural Spain!  We will miss her greatly... she is now an American citizen also and therefore can come and visit without any problems, so we hope for that to happen in the years to come!

Praying in my home was such a gift and our time with them in KC and in France is always centered on Jesus in Word and Sacrament and PRAYER and dishes!

10 years ago...

Wind!!!

10 years later!!!  All that they have shared with us!  Prayers for John, each new grandchild and mourning the loss of those called to heaven, the ups and downs we have shared!  How we love to know of their prayers for us and how blessed we have been because of them!

Jesus promises us today!!!
"And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened... "  Luke 11

After Adoration we stopped in to see the Little Sisters.  How lucky are these two to have the special experience of playing in a monastery where their aunt Hallel and her family of the Lamb lives?  They have no idea how wonderful this is to have in their lives!

At home and bringing the joy that little ones bring to the Community... they are family!!!

Jesus over their shoulders while they quietly read books about the saints and Nancy's soft book of the rosary that she made for them!  I can see the shower of blessing pouring upon them from their loving Lord!

The rain we returned home to ... 3 inches and 2 tenths in the guage!  Bringing the cows home today... hope they don't get stuck in the mud!  Lord, we love  you and are lifted up by the many prayers of our family!  Bless-bless, Barb

WE listened to Louis L'amour dramatizations for many hours.  We prayed some and visited some and looked at irrigators sitting in water of flooded fields all the way there and back!

The rosary is my companion and prayer without ceasing!  

I got carried away today, but it was wonderful to find their visit from 10 years ago!
