He had just prayed to Our Lady in the echo of the grotto icon which had been blessed by these amazing powerful words!
Lord, our God, it was your good will that your Son, the coeternal and consubstantial Word, took flesh in the pure and ever virgin Mary. By her Immaculate birth you made her Mother of God. You gave her to all the faithful as a protector, an advocate, and a helper. Now look upon us who humbly pray to you, we who call on her and believe that she is truly the Mother of God, who invoke her intercession with faith. Through her intercession hear our prayers and our petitions, send the grace of your most Holy Spirit upon this icon of the Nativity of the Lord that your servants have made in her honor and memory. Bless it and make it holy by your heavenly blessing, give it the strength and the power to accomplish miracles. Make it a source of healing and health. Grant protection, deliverance, and immediate help to all those who before this icon will venerate the Most Blessed Virgin, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, your Beloved Son, and as our protector will seek her intercession and implore her help in affliction and danger. In your mercy grant forgiveness for their sins. May they promptly receive the grace they beg from you; may they obtain the awaited mercy of your love for mankind; and may they partake in your heavenly Kingdom. The foundress, Little Sister Marie with her translater, ls Judith, who is woven in and out of our early years with The Community! Marie shared that in her morning prayer she had read the words of Joshua, which Archbishop had preached upon. She expanded them; "As for me and my household we will serve the Lord in the heart of The Church today! Here and now!" LOVE! I love that about Hallel's family of the Lamb... they are in line with The Church and take us so deep in the Truth!
Surprise!!! Mass with the Archbishop for Sunday in Lumen Christi! He made me smile with his homily about how he felt The Spirit telling him that they should tear up their tickets and stay here in the U.S.... "Well, maybe it wasn't really the Spirit, but..." How we love them and when so many are gathered here in the U.S. it is truly a blessing of astronomical proportions and we LOVE it!
One of the petitions also made me smile with delight as the "widow" was prayed for as they go out on mission begging from the poor. Truly they have been told of wonderful blessings and graces that come to those who give out of their poverty!
A place of miracles!!!! Yes! How I look upon this and am filled with peace and acceptance of my journey that lies ahead with my knee in a few days. the words from Psalm 131 in mass today are my prayer and in many ways my reality with the slow progress it takes to recover. I had my other knee done about 12 years ago and that took me 6 months... I am told now that it is 3 months!

Love these I took of Hallel and a young girl from Chile... she allowed me to capture Hallel in her happiness in front of this grotto awaiting our prayers and needs...
I am so glad that the girl from Chile offered to take this! LOVE! And I will make a copy and put it by my bed to give me strength and courage for all that I face and for my sweet Little Sister Hallel and for Nancy, Maria, and Bobbi with their little ones in the womb, and... I could go on and on and I will as prayer will be huge to fill the time of my recovery!
Jesus and Mary... fill the world with your lights and may the miracles of healing and peace flow everywhere. Be with the elections tomorrow and may your Truth and glory reign. Protect all life from conception to natural death! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah

This week on Catholic Sprouts, we will be talking about SAINTS! Since we celebrated the great feast day of ALL SAINTS last week, my kids have had lots of questions about saints, so I thought it would be a good time to answer a few of those questions.
And, don't worry! Nothing scary in need of a warning this week ;)
On Monday, the feast of St. Elizabeth, we will talk about what a Saint actually is, how we are all called to be saints and how we know that the saints are in heaven, along with many saints we don't know about.
On Tuesday, the feast of Blessed Solanus Casey (one of my favs!) we dig into the canonization process and the steps to official, recognized sainthood in the church.
On Wednesday we will tackle a common Protestant misunderstanding, that we make saints into idols (we don't!!). We will clear this up and talk about the proper way to approach and depend on a saint.
Thursday we will talk about patron saints. Why do we have patron saints and how do we select patrons if we need one?
And finally, on Friday, we will discuss why it is good to celebrate our saints, and ideas for doing that.
