In the Gospel today Jesus takes Simon's mother in law by the hand and heals her so that she may then serve! Jesus lifts us from all illness, and we are then able to return his love in service!
Dishes are always done by hand with all pitching in and the water is heated on the stove to remind us of their poverty. Hallel has been able to sit and dry over these last 6 weeks of staying off her right leg. This journey of humble healing has given her the desire to serve all the more!
I have friends visiting the Holy Land as we read in the Gospels day after day... my friend Elaine is sharing the pictures of the reality of the place where Jesus lived and ministered to us still to this day! This is Temptation Mountain where Jesus fasted and prayed for 40 days in the desert. Not much food or drink here obviously. Today in the Gospel we read that after healing all Jesus went off the a deserted place to pray, and this came to me as how that could have been in truth. So barren and desolate and "deserted" and in the early morning hours the heat would be less and the mind and heart fresh with prayer drawing him in close LOVE with his heavenly Father. Those morning prayers said with my husband or alone in the early dark of the morning fill me with the Truth and desire to die to self and allow Jesus/Holy Spirit to be in control of my life.
The precious feet of our grandchild due in about 9 weeks... John and Bobbi's first!
Pat and I shared during prayer this morning the horror of thinking that killing the innocent life in the womb has ever gotten to the place where it was accepted and celebrated... Lord, how can this be happening daily/hourly/minute by minute in our country? Pets have become cherished and protected at all costs and human life is only worth anything if they are wanted and the timing is right. Otherwise there is no problem in taking that life. I am so sick at this disgusting fact and that it is legal and promoted by so many. Lord, how we need you to bring the Truth to LIGHT and heal our country - bringing them from a culture of death to one of LIFE?
I have fake plans to be with my parents the next few days... praying in a place of great and constant prayer!
Jesus, we love you and want to share that love with serving without counting the cost. Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barb

Heaven for me is hidden in a little Host Where Jesus, my Spouse, is veiled for love. I go to that Divine Furnace to draw out life, and there my Sweet Saviour listens to me night and day. -St Therese #Catholic #Jesus
