St Paul paints a beautiful picture of "Confession"/Reconciliation..."The Word is living and effective" giving us mercy and grace!

In the early light of dawn praying morning prayer with the icons looking on as we share The Our Father and then pray for his entire family... 11 children and their spouses, 36 grandchildren with their spouses, 50 great grandchildren with 4 in the womb placing a hedge of protection around each one!  How we are lifted up and our lives are blessed by those daily prayers of our parents united in prayer... sharing The Word/Jesus is a big part of that.

Dad shared that when he walks through the house saying his rosary that he bows to the icons all around him.  Can you walk in the home of my parents and know that it is a home filled with Catholic Faith?  Without a doubt!  Such a special holy peaceful place for me to have precious time with both my wonderful parents!  I love every moment and am so grateful for these islands of prayer and peace and LOVE shared with my parents and united for our beloved Church!

Friday is the day that I need to find a tabernacle and lift up Fr Denny in prayer.  So wonderful that mom and dad's parish has Adoration on Fridays close by and this amazing sight greeted me and filled me with the deepest of prayer at his feet... Jesus in the monstrance!

St Paul addresses us in the Hebrews today and it is all so wonderful!
"The word of God is living and effective,
sharper than any two-edged sword,
penetrating even between soul and spirit,
joints and marrow,
and able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart."
Hebrews 4

The Word/Jesus coming to us each day is huge in my life!  How I love to read this from St Paul today and see with eyes of Faith how this is Truth!  The Word... the Holy Spirit comes to us and fills us with LIGHT and Truth to face all that comes to us in this world of sin and darkness.  Our thoughts of the heart are filled with that Truth and able to discern the ugly and misleading lies that Satan is feeding us through the relativism which permeates our society!  How can it be that over 100,000 marching for life are totally neglected by the news media?  Instead they follow the hatefilled women's march?

A blessing to pray with my sister... Thank you, Jesus!  I know that the issue of protecting all life is shared in our prayer and "thoughts of the heart."  Marty has 6 children with numerous losses as do I with only 5 children here with me on this journey.  Our huge families are close and fill our worlds with Faith and Family!

They have carbs in the house when grandpa and grandma visit!
Back to the prayer heads of our huge family numbering over 120 and growing by 4 soon!

The Gospel today is the story of forgiveness and leaving a life of sin behind and serving the Lord with your all... the calling of St Matthew the tax collector!

I felt this was a beautiful picture of what confession/reconciliation is for us from Hebrews 4 today!
"Since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens,
Jesus, the Son of God,
let us hold fast to our confession.
For we do not have a high priest
who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
but one who has similarly been tested in every way,
yet without sin.
So let us confidently approach the throne of grace
to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help."

We hear the words of Christ to those that he heals - "Go, your sins are forgiven." from the priest after we lay our sins at his feet in the confessional.  LOVE the healing power of this amazing sacrament that we use too seldom.  May we do better and grow in our journey of Faith down the narrow path carrying/dragging our Most Cherished Cross!
In our jamies with bare feet... coming as you are to Jesus!

Jesus, truly we are given mercy and grace to love and serve you with our ALL!  May we die to self so that you may live and be in control of our lives.  May we come to your sacraments often to be washed clean and cling to your Word to fill us with all that is Truth!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah

Also Mc Donalds spoiling... What are grandparents for anyways?  Bless-bless, Barb
