Look in the mirror of the Cross and see your worth/St Anthony of Padua/slow relaxed summer?

JoJo at the Science museum yesterday after picking vegetables, going to the grocery store and paying for them.
Our cripple chicken with his wayward leg...
He chips for us to help him get a drink and some feed.  There is something about having a relationship with a chicken.  Years ago Ruth had a pet chicken, who was red and a runt.  She named him Chicklet, and we call this one Crip.
He is allowing the water to go down his throat over and over.

It has been a hectic day for all of us... Ruth running with her kids for swimming lessons and tutoring while Mary and Simon are out picking rocks and doing goat chores.  I was watching for heat and running errands with Pat and then helping him fix a tire on the tractor.  Nancy has been here putting clothes on the line and gearing up for Father's day weekend with Bill in the Cities.
A wall of curious cows and heifers got really close to me while I watched for heat yesterday... their shadows reveal just about straight up noon.
 Hello there!
The corn coming up late, but we pray and hope.
A lot of joy putting kids clothes on the line including a sleeper for 4 month old George!  Today is George's 4 month birthday!  5 days ago Hector was 3 months!

Hector with mom yesterday... On Tuesday Maria and her 6 will be getting on a plane and coming to Minnesota, and then jumping in the van and heading to Kansas to see Hallel!  Crazy?  Yes, and so many prayers and some fake plans for grandma and a few kids to head down there to share in the Family time of all family times!
Joy having a great time shopping... "She was so into putting everything into her shopping cart just so. You can tell she has shopped  alot with her mommy." shared Nancy
Digging for dinosaur bones at the science museum yesterday.  I love when the girls with their kids do something fun and exciting now and then.  Not to say that there is always cousins and fun and work too on the farm!
 Getting the vegetables...
Luke picking corn, which he has done every summer come sweet corn time.  I imagine there are lots of kids that have no idea what a corn plant looks like of how to get a cob of corn off of one.  Luke happens to live on a farm surrounded by corn fields.
The morning was spent watching for heat, getting a tractor tire fixed with hubby and then helping him get it fixed and the tractor back home.  I figured I had the license to take a picture if I had to help... that is what I charge, and that's cheap.
Nancy putting lots of clothes on the line on this wonderful sun filled day.

Reading morning prayer out by the cows watching for heat this morning... I had a big wow moment reading these words from St Anthony of Padua on this his feast day...
"Christ who is your life is hanging before you, so that you may look at the cross as in a mirror.  There you will be able to know how mortal were your wounds, that no medicine other than the Blood of the Son of God could heal...  Nowhere other than looking at himself in the mirror of the Cross can man better understand how much he is worth."

Watercoloring in the glorious day on the porch for Father's Day!  Nothing makes me more peaceful and happy inside than to see this.

I love these words of St Paul to the Corinthians in 2 Corinthians 3 today!  Jesus is the Word and we merely the voice!  Just as the great preacher St Anthony was a most perfect voice sharing Jesus/the Word!  Much like St Paul before him!
"For we do not preach ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord,
and ourselves as your slaves for the sake of Jesus.
For God who said, Let light shine out of darkness,
has shone in our hearts to bring to light
the knowledge of the glory of God
on the face of Jesus Christ."
Naptime for George in the midst of LIFE!

Jesus, we are filled to overflowing with all that you give us each day as your Word fills us with LIGHT and Truth through your Holy Spirit dwelling within us!  Your Mother travels with us as those rosary beads pass through our fingers and we are led in prayers by each "Hail Mary" as we go from one thing to the next in life.  Then to have the Saints from each day with us and taking us so deep into your Cross!  Jesus, we trust in you.  St Anthony pray for us and be with us.  Amen and Hallelujah
Jude at a truck stop on his way to Colorado with mom, dad and Bobbi's family!  They are learning what a wonderful traveler he is too!

I think that your life will be never a dull moment too, Jude!  You are so beloved by so many, sweet precious Jude!  Soon you will meet your cousin, Hector, who looks  a lot like you!  Bless-bless, Grandma Barb

Hector hanging out at the splash pad while the others get cool in a heat wave in Washington.  Come to cool Minnesota soon!
