Preparations for our family arriving in MN!/Father's Day weekend... Jesus in control in the storm!

Shortly after Father's Day weekend 2009 when we discovered that John had brain cancer and his sisters all rushed to his side!  How they have always loved to be on his case, and the joking and laughter helped us cling to the prayers and hopes for John's healing.

When we called Susan/Hallel in France to tell her that John had something in his brain on Father's Day 2009.  "Mom do you remember the Gospel for today?"  "Yes, it was Jesus calming the storm."  "Well, this is the storm and Jesus is in control."  Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Casting Crowns - Praise you in this storm.

Susan had just returned from France where she was in formation in The Community of the Lamb!

I am in the process of getting the van ready to go up to the Cities tomorrow... filling it with snacks, water, car seats, book, movies and books on CD.  As they plan to jump into it and drive to Kansas City from the airport... 7 hours on the road!  I have fake plans to go there from here with 3 grandkids in tow and share in the craziness with Hallel and her Community for a few days before I have to leave and work a TEC retreat!  When I say there is never a dull moment in my life... I think it is a good description.

Susan and John sharing some silliness before she headed back to France to take her habit.  We all had tickets to go for this huge occasion, but with John's illness we got our tickets refunded...

Miraculously John was better enough to go there last minute!  Oh, the JOY!!!

Hallel in her habit and now from Susan to Little Sister Hallel!  August 2009 on the Feast of the Queenship of Mary in Saint Pierre, France!

John and Susan have always been so close and sharing these huge times in their lives... so intertwined as the prayers of her Community along with those of hundreds of prayer warriors brought John to healing!  Including 3 trips to Lourdes where her healing waters were poured on his head, and he fell head over heels in love with Our Lady!

In Lourdes in 2009!  Water droplets still on his hair from the miraculous springs where St Bernadette dug in the mud and it bubbled forth to heal many!  "I told them to pour it on my head because that is where I need the healing!"

John on the cross of brain cancer/healing and finding Faith!

Psalm 103 from today's mass - Jesus has taken away our sins from one nail scarred hand to the other... from the East to the West!

He will not always chide,
nor does he keep his wrath forever.
Not according to our sins does he deal with us,
nor does he requite us according to our crimes.
R. The Lord is kind and merciful.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so surpassing is his kindness toward those who fear him.
As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he put our transgressions from us.
R. The Lord is kind and merciful.  Psalm 103 from mass today!

John on the cross of Cancer - healing to find his Faith and cast out the doubt of sin and darkness!  Jesus takes our sins and covers them with his blood as far as the East is to the West... from one nail scarred hand to the other!
Casting Crowns - East to the West

In Lourdes in 2011... healed and loving Mary, the Mother of God!
John celebrating his first Father's Day weekend in Colorado Springs with Bobbi's family!  Garden of the gods...
At least Jude will remember it from pictures and I am sure he is being loved and adored by all!!!
John is a dad and husband in a matter of a wonderful year!!!  The work in his life continues to be filled with so many miracles/personal encounters with His loving and forgiving Lord through Our Mother of heaven and earth!
LOVE!!!
In church last Sunday!

I groaned when I read the first reading from St Paul today in 2 Corinthians 5 about how we are called to die to self so that LIFE/Christ may live in us!
"He indeed died for all,
so that those who live might no longer live for themselves
but for him who for their sake died and was raised. "

In preparing for the TEC retreat happening next weekend... how I pray for this to be the case for Pat and I and all attending.  That we may encounter Jesus and give our all to Him, as Jesus is in control in the storm!
A week ago on their porch... a family now and so thrilled with their wonderful son!

Lord, how we love you and are filled with so much JOY when we look at all the ways you have touched our lives with your unconditional LOVE and forgiveness.  May we die to self so that you may work, live, serve, and love through us. Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
Hanging out with Mary and the gnats.

Nancy and family are up with Bill in the Cities this weekend.  Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads in our family!  Our grandchildren and daughters are truly blessed by the wonderful men , who are their husbands and fathers of their children!  Bless-bless, Barb

Wow!!
John's story is truly a miracle that continues to this day!

Therese and David were 1 when John was facing cancer 10 years ago... they are both approaching 11, as Therese was in March and David will be in July!  How our family has grown over those 10 years from 4 grandkids to 18!  Open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS!
