It was a different mass this morning with only the "two old people" and missing John at home watching mass with sick kids, and Ruth out hunting and going to mass this evening as a family. Rarely are we alone at mass.... It was wonderful to have our TEC friend, Fr Denny, preaching today. He has been so wonderful for dad and I for his last few weeks and coming to pray at his death bed. Thank you, dear friend!
The readings for the 32nd Sunday of Ordinary time as Fr Denny shared with us - Wisdom! I listened with my father in mind as he talked about The Wisdom we read about in The Word is how we look at all with the eyes of faith/the eyes of our Lord.
I know that dad did this and am eternally grateful for how it flowed over to me! How he and mom prayed over me to receive The Holy Spirit, and how that enriched my life and world with Truth/wisdom in a deepening faith life and LOVE for my Lord!

Hand in hand with this is our finding a prayer group/Holy Spirit filled nuns at the Cenacle Convent in Wayzata, MN when we made the big move to Mpls! Through their prayers and opening our eyes to all things Catholic - while dad was on an Ingation Retreat there and reading Isaiah 55:1-2 dad saw with the eyes of his heart that he was to come into The Church along with his family totaling 13!

Call it her 6 month photo shoot by grandma! Don't you feel like you know just how sweet she is inside and out? She is that sweet!!!
Father Denny also spoke to how we can allow our lamps to go out without replacing the oil they need to cast LIGHT to all those we encounter. That oil is the wisdom we embrace to show us with eyes of Faith the Truth which we are embrace and follow without reservation from The Church, and Jesus in The Word and Sacraments!
Bunny and thumb so reminds me of my 4 baby girls with their thumbs! She looks so much like her Verly Aunts that it makes me get such warm happy feelings to have that joy over again!
My father was certainly an example of always keeping oil in his flask and in his lamp and ready...

Dad prayed morning, midday and evening... the prayer of The Church! We prayed each day the Rosary and chaplet of Divine Mercy! He would do spiritual reading always with daily meditations of his friend Brother Victor Antoine. He would read with great interest the books that were given out during Lent by Churches and by his Bishop De Goode! Always looking for the words of Wisdom to speak to him and then he would share those pearls with his family! A true "teacher and preacher"!

I am finding these gems of wisdom with many lines pointed out with underlines and words of his feelings and insights each day! I continue to sit at the feet of my father, and he is sharing with me as I hold with great reverence his prayer book used over many of his 44 years as a Permanent Deacon in The Church that we both loved totally and unreservedly!
I groan with thankfulness and excitement to "see with eyes of Faith" my father's love of Jesus, Mary and The Church! Both he and mother are blessing me as I just discovered mom's daily meditations of Pope Benedict that she followed daily for 10 years! I am so blessed with the wisdom of my parents!

5 years ago we would bring Jesus to Pat's mother, who was homebound on hospice for almost 2 years on hospice. That too was precious family time each Sunday spending a few hours sharing breakfast and praying The Gospel and sharing Jesus in Word and his Body of Christ/The Eucharist! How we loved to share our Catholic Faith with this wonderful woman, who taught me all I know about being a farmwife!
Bobbi spoiled Pat after all his help yesterday by making his wonderful caramel rolls for breakfast! We also got to watch Birdie having her first food for breakfast! How we love to share our Faith and Family on Sundays! It gets each week off on a very joyful and uplifting step in the right direction!
Jesus, how we are filled to overflowing by all that you pour upon us! When we are given the ability to see the Truth as your Wisdom guides us to embrace your Most Cherished Cross to follow after you with the help of your most Glorious Beautiful Church! May we die to self so that you may live in us! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah

Elizabeth of the Trinity, born Élisabeth Catez was a French Carmelite nun and religious writer. Elizabeth entered the Dijon Carmel on August 2, 1901. She said, "I find Him everywhere while doing the wash as well as while praying." Her time in the Carmel had some high times as well as some very low times. Today, we know about all that she felt and experienced in her writings. Elizabeth died at the age of 26 from Addison's disease, which in the early 20th century had no treatment.
St Elizabeth go up to dad and give him a big hug from me today, and pray for us here and so sad after our election here in our messed up country!
