Love to see Pat's dimple, which he was mortified by as a young boy when they were pointed out to others by loving older women - like his aunts. Those dimples were passed on to a daughter and her daughter... a legacy of cuteness!
I was intrigued to see that I am wearing the same as last year... I love the blue as it reminds me of the Community of the Lamb - Hallel's habit which is "the color of the sky and the shape of the Cross." Hallel is always with us in prayer and support of the Spiritual nature, and how we depend upon that in our domestic Church/family!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: Our marriage stories - "The world needs LIGHTS!"
These two share a room at home and are growing up into good friends. They shared their bedroom with 13 year old Therese and 8 year old Bernadette when we had the cousins together on the farm for a week. Definitely know how to share and find joy in being generous with all that they are blessed with on the farm.
Grandpa can't stop talking about how much Joy loves to "walk"/run after the pigs after supper. "She sure loves to run after those pigs!"
Soft and always moving...
In my dad's chair with the now 2 kittens that are here. I got talked into taking another brother kitten to Snowball, who is now named Ignatius/Iggy for short. Very different but they do share the 4 white stockings feet. They also occupy each other more, so that Snowball/Corny is not underfoot so much.
Public TV, getting hair done, and kitten snuggles.
3 for good measure seems to be what it takes to cover something adequately. Turned over the August Calendar made for us by Bobbi... canning is right around the corner and it is one of the family jobs that we love to do! Last year it happened that Maria was here for canning, which will not be the case this year.
Love to look over at this for the next month!
Now 2 kittens - Corny and Iggy are getting spoiled by me.
Joy in my dad's chair with kittens all around. I asked Joy if she remembered her great grandpa sitting in there and living with me last year. She did.
It turned into nap time on grandma's bed.
Girl and kitten time for the afternoon is special. Grandma likes to spoil them with ice cream and public TV. They are very busy on the farm and we like to rest when we can.
Jackpot!!! I mentioned to Pat's sister in Seattle that we could not find lids - she made it her mission and came up with plenty for our canning season coming up. Thanks, RaTerra!
I think they like being together and spoiled by me. I will get them both fixed so that they can be nice cats for me for years to come. Ruth and family already have another 5 that are summer kittens and just 2 weeks old... more cats than they can handle and house cats are not a thing over there.
I do feel transported into a heavenly peaceful place for my two hours each week! I feel that the Lord has spoken to me that word he did to St Peter today - "Come." I feel like I can take that step out on the water of the stormy sea, and keeping my eyes on him that I can walk to him - trusting that He is working the miracle in my life over and over as I ponder the many ways He has touched my life!
“It is a ghost,” they said, and they cried out in fear.
At once Jesus spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
Peter said to him in reply,
“Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”
He said, “Come.”
Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus.
But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened;
and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him,
and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14
A year ago... so grateful that we are back at mass with no masks and no distancing. Lord, how we ask that we can come together as Church once again!
Nap snuggle time on grandma's bed.
"Grandma come and take a picture" - they know me too well.
Yes, Lord!
Dad loved his retirement/vacation home built on Lake Michigan, and I miss it sorely. It made me smile to find this in morning prayer this morning. Those memories are deep in my heart, and my love for the Big Lake is now shared by many of my grandchildren, who grew up going there each summer.
Bishop Fulton Sheen's words of wisdom and Truth today on our 43rd anniversary - certainly full of many trials, disappointments, sorrows, and pains... all of which we shared and brought us to Jesus through Mary!
Pope Benedict XVI today was super wonderful too! Changed by our encounter with Jesus in Word, Body and Blood! As in the Gospel today all those that touched the tassel/hem of his garment were healed - touching his Body in The Eucharist is healing to us!
LOVE Brother Victor, dad's man, with his bird's eye view of Monastic LIFE!
A safe haven in the storms of life!
When they brought Jesus into their boat the winds died down!
After they got into the boat, the wind died down.
Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying,
“Truly, you are the Son of God.”
After making the crossing, they came to land at Gennesaret.
When the men of that place recognized him,
they sent word to all the surrounding country.
People brought to him all those who were sick
and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak,
and as many as touched it were healed. Matthew 14
3years ago in France - aglow with our own "transfiguration" after meeting God face to face in The Eucharist and Adoration in Saint Pierre, France for Hallel's final vows! "I promise unto death."
John's wedding - only missing Hallel 3 years ago in June.
A wonderful selfie of Nancy with her 4 taken 7 years ago. She will welcome a new daughter - #6 child at Christmas. She has now added 3 in heaven including a 5 month stillbirth, Maximilian. There is her dimple and also Bernadette has one on each side - so special!
Saint Lydia Purpuraria
1st Century
Feast Day: August 3
Patronage: dyers
St. Lydia was Saint Paul's first known convert and the seller of purple cloth, as mentioned in the New Testament:
On the Sabbath, we went outside the city gate along the river where we thought there would be a place of prayer. We sat and spoke with the women who had gathered there. One of them, a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth, from the city of Thyatira, a worshiper of God, listened, and the Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what Paul was saying. After she and her household had been baptized, she offered us an invitation, "If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my home," and she prevailed on us.
-Acts 16:13-15
Holy Sacrifice of the Altar really becomes
the center and the root
of your interior life, and so your
whole day will turn into an act of worship -
an extension of the Mass you have attended
and a preparation for the next.
This will then overflow in aspirations,
visits to the Blessed Sacrament, and
the offering up of your
professional work and your family life."
St Josemaria Escriva
Danielle Rose - If I touch him - the woman who touched his garment and was healed!
