The drought is real/The rock of our Salvation on which is The Church built/New Priest ordained tomorrow in France!

Little Brother Francis Xavier is very much on my heart today as tomorrow on the Feast of The Transfiguration he will be ordained a priest with the Community of the Lamb in Saint Pierre, France in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains.

We know him well after many years of living with the Little Brothers in Kansas City.  We have watched him go through his formation as a Deacon preaching and assisting Little Brother Isaac, who has been our priest for the last few years.

Pat and I took down 5 baby chicks in April to join their chicken house.  Little Sister Joyce is in France as the entire Community went to France a month ago to support and experience Little Brother Francis Xavier's ordination.
Little Sister Marie John was fully professed 3 years ago with Hallel in France when the 21 were there to support Susan/Hallel as she spoke these powerful words of True Commitment to her Spouse, Jesus Christ!  "I promise unto death."  The mass and ceremony was in French, so to hear Hallel clearly and loudly say these words in English caused us to burst into instant tears at the power of them!

The procession taking the baby chicks back to their new home in the heart of the poor in Kansas City,KS!
Placing Jesus on the altar for hours of Adoration twice a day including mass each day and prayer throughout the day.  We have also learned to mendicate/chew the Gospel starting the night before.  Repeating each line speaking and chanting - the Holy Spirit opens to us deeper meaning and we take it to heart and carry it forth with us as Our Lord asks of us!
Francis Xavier with his Lord - he will become his priest tomorrow and bring LIFE into the world!  How we are praying for him!
Pat and I are awaiting the return of our family of the Lamb from France and how we would love to have Little Brother Francis Xavier now return as a priest! Even though our Hallel is now there - we return as often as we can as they are family to us!
A humble special beautiful place of worship and LOVE/LIFE/LIGHT!  Lumen Christi - Light of Christ!  Little Brother's Monastery is called Light of Mary the Mother of God.
Paper Halle with The Lamb..."Wounded, I will never cease to love."  the motto that they live by and the Lamb shows us now to live that Truth!
The American sisters are now in France for this big celebration tomorrow - how we are joined with them in our prayer and love!

Francis Xavier and Little Brother Louis Marie with paper Hallel on a visit soon after my father died last October.  WE are so blessed to have so many now in our family of Faith with our daughter's "Yes" to join The Community of the Lamb 13 years ago!  Yes, our daughter took a vow of celibacy and will not have children of her own, but we have hundreds of amazing family now!

The example of her call is so powerful for all of her family and my prayer each day on her decade of the rosary - I pray that all of her nieces and nephews will consider this amazing option as possible for them in God's plan!

The drought is changing things - cows and calves on CRP land - has not been grazed before.  We had to travel a hour for get a water tank for them to drink and buy water from neighbors... the drought is real and gets worse with each day.
Creep feed for the calves is important, and the cows are very interested
Struggling to keep every one fed and watered.  Please send rain, O Lord!
It amazes to see how crops can continue to grow with no rain.  The ears look good but no real corn to speak of - it looks like silage is all that it will be good for.  At least we can feed that to the cows now.  Adjusting to what we get as we have no control over that except for prayer!
Picture of almost 3 month old Maggie in Washington - Maria has a new phone and camera...
Looks like she will be the first one of the 7 to have blue eyes like her daddy, Captain Joseph!
A year ago... granddaughter Mary learning how to weld on her goat feeder - she is now a full fledged goat farmer, and even took her first 4 to market a few weeks back.  Yes, she is raising them for meat, and that takes a lot of stomach to watch them go.
From The Community we are invited to watch the livestream of his ordination tomorrow - they are 7 hours ahead of us...

Our Lady of the Snows
Our Lady of the Snows is one of the oldest devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary. It commemorates a miraculous event that happened during the reign of Pope Liberius. A wealthy, childless Roman couple prayed to know how their fortune should be used for God. Our Lady answered them in a dream and asked that a church be built in her honor. She also appeared in a dream to the Holy Father with the same request. On August 5, 352 A.D., a hot summer day, snow fell on Esquiline Hill. All of Rome proclaimed it a miracle, and a basilica was built on the spot according to the outline of the pattern of snow. The church, the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore (Saint Mary Major), is the largest church in the world, and one of the first, dedicated to Our Lady. August 5th celebrates its rebuilding and dedication in 434 A.D.

Able to attend a special mass of Christian burial for a dear friend of Pat's mother today!
I felt close to my parents and Pat's parents today.  Mass is absolutely the most heavenly way to celebrate leaving this world for the next - Heaven forever!

The Gospel today is laying the foundation of The Church and all that it blesses us with each day of our journey!  Jesus giving St Peter the assurance that he will be the first pope - the Rock on which The Church was founded!
Simon Peter said in reply,
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.
For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
And so I say to you, you are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my Church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven;
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”  Matthew 16
There is no greater JOY than Jesus, Mary, the Saints and The Church!  My dear father brought all 13 into The Church 50 years ago!

Dad today in morning prayer - love to sit at his feet still!  My 6 months with him sharing our farm monastery was such a gift to me and so it continues each day with the prayer books he left behind for me along with mom's book by Pope Benedict XVI!
How I love PRAYER and this final paragraph by Dad's man, Brother Victor, is very powerful and encouraging!  I love to adore and worship in my innermost temple in my heart!

Jesus, may we die more to self this day that your Holy Spirit may live within us and we may become your hands and feet and voice which proclaims your Truth to the world in all that we do and say!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
It's not just a job - it's a LIFE!  Lord, hear our plea for the rains that our crops and livestock need!  Bless-bless, Barbara
