Cool Jude/St Rose today/Trying to enter the Kingdom of Heaven

Jude tickled grandma with the adorable thrift store tie that grandma Lila found for him.  He had me put it on him when I walked through the door and added the shades to look super cool!

He kept them on inside and outside and doing all of his playing, too.

His two cousin buddies are together in Washington and when we talked to Nancy a bit ago she said that they are fighting over the same things... "they are both physical after having older siblings picking on them."

Birdie climbed in for a ride after her big brother took the wagon away from her.  Jude is the oldest so he does the getting of what he wants from his little sister.  

Soon Jude got tired of the wagon...

He went on the mow-mow, looking super cute/cool with his blue shoes, red tie and sunglasses on a hot dry day.

Fun that the tie matched his shirt.  There was talk of him going to the doctor after some days with fever and some spots appearing.  We got the diagnosis over the phone - foot, hand, mouth disease.  Nothing to do but ibuprofen and fluids.  Get better Jude!

A short rest on dad, but seemed happy and playing like normal after his meds.

Grandpa stopped in for some time with the littles.

John has permanent grids on his lenses now, after his nerve was damaged by whole brain radiation.  Making the tweaks it takes to be more normal with the new John.

8 years ago today - St Rose of Lima feast day... Ruth Ida Rose, and Rose Ida are celebrating their patron Saint!  She was beautiful and worked from her home... a lot like these two!

St. Rose was a very pretty and obedient girl born in Peru. She was determined to take a vow of virginity, which was opposed by her parents, who wished her to marry. When she was admired for her beauty, Rose cut off her hair and smeared pepper on her face to ruin her complexion so she would not be attractive. She lived and meditated in a garden, raising vegetables and making embroidered items to sell to support her family and help the poor. She was a Dominican tertiary, mystic and visionary. She received the invisible stigmata and suffered from assorted physical and mental ailments. She died in 1617 at the age of 31 and was the first saint of the Americas.

In the Gospel today Jesus reprimands the Pharisees about blocking the way for those that are trying to enter the Kingdom of Heaven - allow entrance to those trying to enter.  Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the LIFE!  He is our entrance into Heaven and He has left for us The Church with Word, Body and Blood as well as The Sacraments to allow us to find our way down the narrow path with Heaven forever as our goal!  Yes, LORD!  How we long to see your face!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah and Bless-bless, Barbara
