The Pat and Barb Verly family and their 5 children, in laws and grandkids along with many prayer warriors have been drawn together by John's cancer... sharing daily for 8 months started this blog- Family Soul Story - Our faith, family, farm and now our cancer journey called HEALING have colored and deepened our world. WE continue to share and depend on the support of our prayer warrior community, that has lowered us into the Lord's presence for His healing!
Afterglow - a week of BRIGHT LIGHT/She came and fell at His feet...
Yes, I admit that I am basking in the LIGHT shining still from our amazing weekend of Family and Faith! Ruth and Paul receiving the blessing of parents by the altar for their 7th child, Thomas. Thomas is truly a sign of new LIFE for their family!

A special bridge of Grace on this special day of Simon's Confirmation as he chose St John Paul II for his Patron Saint! 4 days after their wedding on November 26, 2003 at the Wednesday Audience in Rome, Italy.... Ruth and Paul had their marriage blessed by St John Paul II! "Please, Bless us with a happy healthy family." was Paul's request. That prayer is being answered to this day!
Newly confirmed Simon Patrick on Sunday. The Holy Spirit streamed in the windows above the altar as LIGHT entered into those being confirmed. St John Paul II, pray for him and for all of us.

Wearing the same Baptismal clothing his grandpa Larry Lanoue wore 60 years before. Aglow surrounded by all the LOVE as child #7 and grandchild #21 for Pat and I! Each new little one makes our love grow more!
Godparents Simon and Mary will be kept close to Thomas and assist him in his Faith journey.
The celebrant speaks to the parents in these or similar words:
You have asked to have your child baptized. In doing so you are accepting the responsibility of training him (her) in the practice of the faith. It will be your duty to bring him (her) up to keep God's commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and our neighbor. Do you clearly understand what you are undertaking?
Parents: We do.
Then the celebrant turns to the godparents and addresses them in these or similar words:
Are you ready to help the parents of this child in their duty as Christian parents?
Godparents: We do.
Supper with Nancy and kids the night before she and Regina flew to be with Therese for her Confirmation which also took place on Sunday in Fort Lewis, WA!
In Fort Lewis on Sunday as Nancy sponsored Sweet Therese in her coming totally and absolutely into The True Church!

LOVE to look around and see the face of JOY! Little Joy is truly named for her happy state in life!
The Gospel today reminds us that through our ups and downs of LIFE we are called to give the control to Jesus and fall at his feet! Looking back on the most difficult moments of our lives - we are helpless and must simply give our all to Jesus and Trust in Him!
John's brain cancer, Grandson, Patrick born dead and brought back to life - a few examples of totally helpless but not hopeless as we turn to Jesus in prayer and fall at his feet!
Patrick's story is very special to me as I was called upon to Baptize him in the midst of NICU in the middle of the night as "he was the sickest baby in here." Prayers were answered with a very healthy happy boy to this day at 9 years old!
Celebrant: Is it your will that N. should be baptized in the faith of the Church, which we have all professed with you?
Parents and Godparents: It is.
He baptizes the child, saying:
N., I baptize you in the name of the Father, He immerses the child or pours water upon it. and of the Son, He immerses the child or pours water upon it a second time. and of the Holy Spirit.
Sweet moment when daddy tries to comfort a crying son, Thomas. It is so powerful to be reminded of what we are undertaking as Godparents and parents of the children we are given along the journey of LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT... my 5 children, 5 Godchildren and yes - my 22 grandchildren are very much in my prayers that they many always love and follow their Catholic Faith with Jesus, Mary and the Saints!
Renunciation of Sin and Profession of Faith
The celebrant speaks to the parents and godparents in these words:
Dear parents and godparents: You have come here to present this child for baptism. By water and the Holy Spirit he (she) is to receive the gift of new life from God, who is love.
On your part, you must make it your constant care to bring him (her) up in the practice of the faith. See that the divine life which God gives him (her) is kept safe from the poison of sin, to grow always stronger in his (her) heart.
If your faith makes you ready to accept this responsibility, renew now the vows of your own baptism. Reject sin; profess your faith in Christ Jesus. This is the faith of the Church. This is the faith in which this child is about to be baptized.
The celebrant questions the parents and godparents:
A. Celebrant: Do you reject Satan?
Parents and Godparents: I do.
Celebrant: And all his works?
Parents and Godparents: I do.
B. Celebrant: Do you reject sin, so as to live in the freedom of God's children?
Parents and Godparents: I do.
Celebrant: Do you reject the glamor of evil, and refuse to be mastered by sin?
Parents and Godparents: I do.
Celebrant: Do you reject Satan, father of sin and prince of darkness?
Parents and Godparents: I do.
According to circumstances, this second form may be expressed with greater precision by the conferences of bishops, especially in places where it is necessary for the parents and godparents to reject superstitious and magical practices used with children.
Next the celebrant asks for the threefold profession of faith from the parents and godparents:
Celebrant: Do you believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth?
Parents and Godparents: I do.
Celebrant: Do you believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died, and was buried, rose from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father?
Parents and Godparents: I do.
Celebrant: Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting?
Parents and Godparents: I do.
The celebrant and the congregation give their assent to this profession of faith: Celebrant: This is our faith. This is the faith of the Church. We are proud to profess it, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
All: Amen.
Therese with friends that are being confirmed with her. Such a wonderful faith-filled girl is our "T".
Nancy was very moved by the young vibrant women of Faith she met on base - "You have a beautiful Community!" Nancy shared wtih Maria. How I love that my girls are finding support and also sharing their LIGHTS with others on the journey!

So very sweet! My parent's 65th great grandchild! My brother, Dan and wife Angela with little Genevieve Anavon. She is their 5th grandchild and #6 is coming in a few months! MORE LOVE!!!
The excitement is building for our trip to KC a week from tomorrow! Our nun allows us to share our faith and have deep amazing experiences in The Church!
August 2009 on the Vigil of The Queenship of Mary - took her habit and new name - Little Sister Hallel! It is the first part of Hallelujah and "whenever anyone says my name they are giving God all the praise!"
13 years ago on the hillside above the Green Cathedral, where summer of 2018 she took her final vows - "I promise unto death". There were 21 of us there for her along with 3 in the womb! 24 sharing our JOY at her saying "yes" to her spouse, Jesus!
Oh my Jesus! How I love you and give my all to you! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Yes! I also thought that I had planned our "big family" as we were open to LIFE and wanting to raise them as LIGHTS! His mysterious plan included many losses - 7 in heaven now praying for us and keeping our eyes on heaven. 5 precious children here with us and how we love ALL LIFE from conception to natural death! How we love each other in the midst of losses they are so precious to us!

So blessed that Saint Pierre, France where The Community of the Lamb has their foundation is just a few hours from Lourdes - we have been there every time we go to visit! 3 for John and I!

Heavenly food is not to be turned away from! I say to those that whine about not being invited to receive the Eucharist after they have left The Church. "You need to believe that it is the Body and Blood of Jesus to receive Him, and if you do believe why would you ever leave The Church?"

Thinking of sweet Simon, who is in the autism spectrum - Jesus has a plan for you Simon, and it is for you to be a LIGHT for the world!

Every day Pope Benedict XVI - a daily meditation that mom left for me! Pondering "the divide" that has come between those that we love. There is a sadness when the damaged relationship is not allowed to heal and be restored. Rather than focusing on the love we share as family, and the values we share, there is the "divide" between us. Much healing happened over the weekend and leads to hope for more to come! Lord, help us to forgive and forget. Bless-bless, Barbara and the 46....33 here and 13 in heaven
