Men's Road to Emmaus/Our Lady of Lourdes waters/Mom today - Benedict XVI - "Holy Grandfather"/"He has done all things well. "

I made a copy of this and made a cover for Pat's TEC Bible with it.  Nothing better to look upon as he is talking on prayer for The Men's Emmaus Retreat beginning tonight.  Those times represented here of prayer being all we can cling to at times when we have no control... John's cancer, Patrick's traumatic birth etc...

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: John's cancer stories

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The story of little Lamb - grandson Patrick

A great time with my parents the last year they lived in their own home.  Brother, Dan and wife lived just a few blocks away and we enjoyed wonderful meals in their cozy home!

Today mom is speaking words to me that are making me smile with delight!  She wrote on the top of her daily meditations by Pope Benedict XVI... that today he stepped down in 2013 and became our "Holy Grandfather!"

many find having a retired Pope as a sign of great evil, but how special to read my mother's words here as I know that she loved Benedict so much!  She read the daily meditation book she left behind for me each day 10 years in a row!  Benedict will be 96 in April!  Who would have thought that he would still be with us?  So special!

His words today are also very powerful and convicting on how we need to see Jesus in others and die to self so that we can engage in sharing one with the other - not divisions!

John 8 years ago in Jackson at one of his many jobs over the years post cancer.  One thing that has been constant and big for him is his love for Our Lady!  "Mom, there is a better mom than you."  Yes!!!
Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes - John after coming out of the baths after Hallel took her habit - August 2009!  "I asked them to pour water on my head, because that is where I need the healing."  His half-hearted prayer for Faith was answered by brain cancer, and Our Lady brought John to her Son!

Spirit Juice Video made to promote his story of finding faith through brain cancer - we now have the new John with wife and children!

Bobbi went to Lourdes on her birthday - August 17, 2018!  All 21 of us had traveled to Saint Pierre, France to share in Hallel's final vows - "I promise unto death."  Bobbi was pregnant with Jude, Nancy with George, and Maria with Hector - so there were 24 in France for Hallel!
Sharing breakfast with hubby Pat this morning - I blessed his head with Lourdes water which we brought back 3 years ago.  He will be sharing his talk on prayer at the Men's Emmaus weekend which begins tonight.  Our Lady of Lourdes heal him and use him to touch others and bring them to your Son, Jesus Christ!
Our wall of family has been richly blessed by having our daughter's Community of the Lamb just a few hours from Lourdes!  We travel there each time we visit!  For John and I that is 3 times now.  John bathed in the waters in the midst of his brain cancer, 2 years later with his dad, and 3 years ago with his sweet wife on her 31st birthday!  How we LOVE Mary!!!

Dad's man, Brother Victor today - he grew up just 2.5 miles - 4km from Lourdes!  Wow!
Such a sweet sharing of his time growing up in France.

"You can't love Mary too much.  You can never love her more than Jesus!"  St Maximilian

Shocking Truth from St Teresa of Calcutta today - Jesus in the Gospel today spit and touched the tongue of the deaf man with the speech impediment today!  He LOVED!

He took him off by himself away from the crowd.
He put his finger into the man’s ears
and, spitting, touched his tongue;
then he looked up to heaven and groaned, and said to him,
Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”)
And immediately the man’s ears were opened,
his speech impediment was removed,
and he spoke plainly.
He ordered them not to tell anyone.
But the more he ordered them not to,
the more they proclaimed it.
They were exceedingly astonished and they said,
“He has done all things well.
He makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”  Mark 7

In a week we will be on the road to visit our Community of the Lamb in Kansas City for a parent weekend!  We will be allowed to stay with them!  So excited!!!
Last year on this feast I was with Nancy and family.
They spent days in Lourdes in 2018 as they wanted their Bernadette to have a deep and amazing experience there along with Nancy, Bill, and Augustine!
Never enough of this filling up of The Church!  Our Love grows more and more with each new LIFE!

I must stop sharing for today - cookies for the retreat and prayer with 7 Sisters in front of the tabernacle are on the agenda still.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah

Me at 2 and will become the oldest of 11, marry a farmer, and have 12 children - 5 here and 7 in heaven.  Thanks to my parents I was brought into The Catholic Church 50 years ago... all 13 of us!  Each day since has been a total gift!  Have you ever wondered why you are looking at the world through your eyes alone?  This is my world and I am so grateful - even the hard times - the Cross becomes the Tree of LIFE indeed!  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 46 - 33 here and 13 in heaven

Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes*
February 11
30th World Day of the Sick

Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, France

“All the shrines of Mary,
scattered throughout the world,
have become above all
centers of devotion to the Eucharist,
as if the Mother of Jesus had appeared,
here or there,
in order to lead the faithful to the
adoration and love of her blessed Son.”

Pope St John XXIII

*Lourdes, France, has become a place
of pilgrimage and healing,
but even more of faith
It is a continuation of Jesus’ healing miracles.
Many who visit Lourdes return home with renewed
faith and a readiness to more generously serve God.
There still may be people who doubt the apparitions of Lourdes.
Perhaps the best that can be said are the words
that introduce the film, Song of Bernadette:

"For those who believe in God,
no explanation is necessary.

For those who do not believe,
no explanation is possible."
