Sunday George was the first of our 3 little grandsons born in 6 weeks to turn 3! In 3 weeks Hector will be 3 in Fort Lewis, WA, and in 6 weeks little Jude will be 3 here in Marshall! They attended their Aunt Little Sister Hallel's final vows in the womb August of 2018! How we love and pray for all life in the womb, so their presence was very much felt and True!
Breakfast at John and Bobbi's after mass on Sunday with huge heart shaped strawberries for Birdie.
That is a big berry for this little girl! She climbed on my lap during mass and asked me; "Grandma, where is grandpa Pat?" "He is on a retreat, but you will see him tonight." Such a smart little girl- with her advanced speech we all think that we now know what a 20 month old thinks!
The shape of a heart and a little bit tart...
Now Jude!
My favorite thing - pictures with huge strawberries.
George a year ago turned 2 while we were in Pennsylvania for Bill's sister, who was dying from cancer.
Such a difficult and powerful time as we were able to share hospice and bring her home for the last 24 hours of her life. Surrounded by family in the midst of covid restrictions were so needed and gave them some closure and peace at a most difficult time.
Little George loves the grandpas - he was very comforting to his "pappy" as he would love to just peacefully sit on his lap and give him loving snuggles at such a hard time. Sweet George was an instrument of love and caring in his little way.
Super bowl party was a great super grandkid time for me. These two got their first swim in grandma's jacuzzi.
We spent a lot of time playin in the warm tub on a cold super bowl Sunday. A new tradition has begun now. I am sure that each time they spend some time with grandma... they will bring their suits and play in the tub. LOVE!That is a big berry for this little girl! "This looks like Barb's bathroom." said John. Yes, not many would have a blue Michigan bathroom on the farm. My summer weeks in Michigan are filled with watercolors to capture my wonderful times there. I left part of my heart there, and long to return with my grandkids, who still love it and beg to return each summer.
Cute and sweet and smart - Jude and Birdie played a long time in the warm waters.
Now the shower nozzle adds to the play.
We had our fun - the game not so much!
An attempt at a heart shaped hamburger for my brother, Al, who came to pick up some meat we butchered. Happy Valentines day!
Al is one of my 4 adopted siblings, and he apologized for any hardships that came with their coming into our family in 1967 when I was 15. "There is no need to apologize Al! It might have been difficult, yet my life is better for having 4 more siblings. My life is richer and better for having dad answer the call of the Holy Spirit and add 4 to our 7. I have never felt that it was anything but good and part of our family planned by our Lord and Lady."

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!
Mustache Valentine's Day - hubby and I at our favorite Mexican Restaurant...
Ruth and Paul did a very sweet thing for their 7 kids! They made a special meal for them! LOVE shared as a family on the day we celebrate LOVE!
Mustache Valentine's Day - hubby and I at our favorite Mexican Restaurant...
Ruth and Paul did a very sweet thing for their 7 kids! They made a special meal for them! LOVE shared as a family on the day we celebrate LOVE!
"Made a "fancy"meal for the kids where a mustache was required. Lots of fun."
"Oven roasted chicken, thrice whipped potatoes, broccoli flourets con Queso. Served with salad as appetizer and chocolate cookies and ice cream for dessert. The giggles were great- put up a sheet between the kitchen and the dining room allowed us to heart their reaction to weirdness."
"Ruth and I decided to make a “fancy” meal for the kids with mustaches required for dining. Our bellies were full and often times hurt with laughing. Love you Ruth, thanks for the good, real, and sometimes weird life we’ve made together." A sweet note from Paul in appreciation to his sweet wife! Their love is a testament of being life-giving one to the other!
Only little 3 month Thomas missing - Aunt Bobbi guessed - "He's probably sleeping with a little milk mustache."
Rose Again 8 years ago is a sweet Valentine girl in my sink at the farm - it has now moved from North facing to the other side of the house, so that Ruth can look out and see the yard from her command station. Her vision for the farm has made is a very wonderful place for the Ruth and Paul family with their 7 children! Only little 3 month Thomas missing - Aunt Bobbi guessed - "He's probably sleeping with a little milk mustache."
The stairway has not changed, but most all else has been changed for the better and newer.
Yes, LORD! You are LOVE and give us LIFE and fill us with your LIGHT! The greatest JOY for our Domestic Church/family is sharing our Faith/Family/Farm!!
3 years ago in Kansas City - new baby brother George Blase born on Feb 13th! Now they have a new baby sister, Regina Maria, who will be 2 months tomorrow!
Kansas City 4 years ago - Nancy and Bill's bunch. Yes, the weather is much warmer there. Today it is to be 64 in KC, and Pat and I are heading there on Friday for a parent's weekend with the Little Sisters! Friday is will be 40, Saturday 42 and Sunday 58! It will be hard to come back on Monday when it is supposed to be up to 60 for a high.
A Valentine's pose for Ruth and Paul a few years back... how we love that they are both farmers and do so much to keep our family farm successful!
On her tiptoes and so wonderful to be back to normal in most all ways at mass now! Only missing the Blood of Christ... will it ever return?
Today in the Gospel Jesus reminds the Disciples of his 2 miraculous feeding the 5,000 and the 4,000 by breaking the bread for them. We are fed by Him in the mystery of his Body broken by the priest! "Do you still not understand?" Jesus to us as He is there each day for us to come and be fed and satisfied and able to go forth and spread the Good News!
Powerful reminder to us!
A study of my namesake Birdie Barbara as we shared time in my room at our super bowl party... we escaped to watch Pixar.
Hallel, my tree with lights and ornaments for the years, and The Immaculate heart of Mary, and my mom's chair with a sweet little 20 month old girl that is a true Verly girl in all ways!
Kneeling...
Looking and asking one of her many questions with such amazing full sentences and clear speach. "Now I know what a 20 month old thinks!"
Standing and possibly bouncing on my mom's soft chair. Our Lady is charmed and I am sure my mother is also smiling!
A birthday hug from Jude for buddy, George, for his birthday. Both shepherds at our live nativity... so sweet!!!

It is super exciting to have for our first reading now from the Book of James! Today we hear these wonderful familiar words...
Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers and sisters:
all good giving and every perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of lights,
with whom there is no alteration or shadow caused by change.
He willed to give us birth by the word of truth
that we may be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. James 1:12-18

Yes! Even the Crosses we endure are there to bring us the perfect gift of turning more and more to Our Lord and Trust in Him! We are cared for and blessed with perfect gifts of the Spirit!
Now the fruits of the Holy Spirit to grace our Lives!Hubby back from his Emmaus retreat with the glowing cross that was gifted to him and the other men who attended. Pat woke up and got us to mass this morning in the cold and the dark! The Lord is calling him and he is answering "Yes".
Oh, how I wish I could do better with this! Dying to self so that I might give without counting the cost. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Mother Angelica in your face with the Truth!
Valentines with Pat's mother about 6 years ago ... she was on hospice in her home and died 10 monthes later.
A wild and crazy trip to Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX about 8 years ago! It looks like my hubby like usual brought some grandkids along - Big Dave, Augustine and Bernadette with the military kids. Nancy came too! Many hours on the road, and for farmer hubby to see the country! How he loves to travel our country!
13 year old Therese gifted this to grandma for Christmas and it seems to like the way that I ignore it. It might get a small drink from time to time and is near a cold south window where there is a cold draft for sure! Thanks, T!
Fools for Christ! Yes, indeed!
Yes, Jesus in Word and Eucharist! LOVE!
Pat and Paul 5 years ago presenting to State Congress about ditches with Rep Chris Swedzinski
St Therese help us on our journey to be humble and die to self. Bless-bless, Barbara and the 46... 33 here and 13 in heaven
Love, Caryll Houselander! Today she seems to be speaking about The Theology of the Body, which later St JPII presented to us in many Wednesday Audiences!
"when we give our body willingly to another... than our union with another is complete." So powerful and important in marriage!

Theology of the Body
Book Series
Theology of the Body is the topic of a series of 129 lectures given by Pope John Paul II during his Wednesday audiences in St. Peter's Square and the Paul VI Audience Hall between September 5, 1979, and November 28, 1984. It constitutes an analysis on human sexuality. The complete addresses were later compiled and expanded upon in many of John Paul's encyclicals, letters, and exhortations.
Dad's man Brother Victor - "Jesus, have pity on me a sinner."
Danielle Rose - writes all her music in front of Jesus in Adoration. Has written song for every decade of the rosary - all 20!
