Farmer Paul and Ruth with their two youngest - 4 month old Thomas and soon to be 5 year old Joy! Joy delighted grandpa and grandma and her older brother, David, singing "your grace is enough" over and over while we shopped for breakfast, and drove to the farm. Her sweet voice was delightful and showed her LOVE for Jesus and all He does for us!
Your grace is enough by Chris Tomlin and Matt MayerSweet 4 month old Tommy smiling with such brightness for grandma!
So precious is he!
A sweet cow calf pair born earlier in the morning. We had 6 new calves yesterday - Farmer Pat said that we are getting close to 50 pairs now! 1/3 of the way through, and all has gone smoothly so far. Thank you, Lord!
The girls bring Tommy to grandpa after sharing mass together. How he loves the babies and is the source of the motto we live by in our family - Open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS!
Joy and Jude are so sweet to watch together. Jude sure loves to spend time with Joy! It was a sign of their love for each other... there were a chair short at our brunch and Joy being small was only using half of her big chair. She willingly shared with Jude and Jude was so sweetly enjoying sharing with Joy!
Grandma could not get enough of their sweet cuteness!
Gathered around on this 3rd Sunday of Lent! We love our day of feasting and celebrating Family sharing our Faith on the Farm!!!
My namesake Birdie Barbara with whipped topping on her face and in her bowl.
Bobbi shared that her kids have missed their time with the cousins on the farm these last few Sundays with other things going on like rolls in the church basement after mass.
Sharing a chair is perfect for Jude and Joy! Probably will be a thing for them!
Fruit and extra special doughnuts as thanks to David being along we went to HyVee for our food!
Now Rose shows Jude the white baby kitten. I guess that Rose saved the life of a black kitten that was cold and lifeless when they found them born outside overnight in the basket. After warming by it's mother and finding a nipple to nurse on- it is now alive and well. Shows what caring and a good momma kitty can accomplish!
7 calves yesterday and there are 3 calving now! It looks like another big day of calving on the farm and it records at 66 degrees of spring like weather! On my travels with meals on wheels over to Balaton today - the ditches are getting green as soon as the snow melts away! So miraculous!How we love our Sunday Feast celebration of sharing mass as a family - no matter where we are in our domestic Church/family we know that we are united in The Eucharist! Maria and Major Joseph and their 7 in Fort Lewis, WA, or Hallel in France, or Nancy and Bill and their 6 in Delano,MN!
13 year old David along got us to get the "good rolls!"
Jude and the chickens after visiting the calves.
Now the baby bottle goats!!!
Hubby is getting me out walking these nights... we share the rosary while we walk our gravel road one way or the other!
Checking the snow melt water in his pasture creek. They were dry due to the drought last fall, and now we need lots of rain to keep them full!
How I have been praying for our daughter nun to come home for Easter in the U.S.! We just got a call from her telling us that yes, she is coming to KCK on March 31st! I wept and praised the Lord for this gift to us! Not only that but she will be able to come home to the farm after sharing the Octave of Easter with The Community of the Lamb!
Nancy 3 years ago with 5 week old George Blase in the Lumen Christi/LIGHT of Christ Monastery doing her hour of adoration. They have since moved to Delano, MN, but are discussing being there for Easter weekend with Hallel and The Community! How I would love for that to happen!
Brother Victor today complete with Song of Songs! Yes, after the long hard death of winter - early springtime does bring to mind a heavenly place where we will never hunger and thirst again - The Spring Lamb, who will be our shepherd and will lead us to springs of living water; and wipe away all the tears from our eyes. ( Rev 7:17)
The Lamb of The Community - "Wounded, I will never cease to love." Ruth outside on this glorious 2nd day of spring talking to her sister, Little Sister Hallel, in France!
Little did I know that she was also calling to tell her family that we will be blessed with a home visit to the farm after the last time she was here in July 2020 when my dad was living here on hospice!
My Lord and Lady have answered the heartfelt prayers of a mother in such a amazing miraculous way!!!
It was all so perfect in the Lord's timing! I had just stopped in the farm for some gas, Ruth invited me and her dad to take a break and share her wonderful hamburgers on the grill, the phone rang and it was Hallel calling to talk to her sister, Ruth, which she was able to do while I finished up lunch. While we were all together - Ruth brought the phone in and Hallel on speaker told all of us there gathered around the news! "I am coming to Kansas City for Easter!" "I also get to come to Marshall!" Oh my!!!
Oh, the technology that allows us to hear Susan/Hallel as though she is sitting right there with us and when in reality in 2 months she will be doing just that - sitting with us around the table! Pat is already talking about cleaning out the shop for a Spring-Summer Family Gathering!
I guess it was yesterday and today is truly feeling like spring with temps of sunny 67 right now! I drove with the window down on my chapel on wheels to Balaton and back to the farm... where my prayers were answered in the most amazing way!!!
My dad teaching me today in the Prayer of The Church he left behind with his direction and I am very sure that he has been instrumental in getting this all to happen in such an amazing way!
More from St Basil and dad! When Hallel came to the farm 2 years ago it was to spend time with her grandfather, Deaon Robert Cross, after not seeing him for 12 years since she left for France to join The Community of the Lamb. Dad was on hospice and died 3 months later - a peaceful "natural death."
Read this prayer from today and weep!!! Through a Virgin , you have brought forth a new birth in our world; through your miracles, a new power; through your suffering, a new patience; in your resurrection, a new hope, and in your ascension, new majesty.

Yes, Lord, we are overwhelmed by your LOVE! "Athirst is my soul for the Living God" in Psalm 42 is so True! You give us living water to quench our thirst and we are so thankful! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen
St Joseph in Saturday - his feastday as I got my porch ready for spring and now for huge family gatherings to come! Thank you dear St Joseph for hearing our prayers for our entire family to be together! I am hoping and praying for this to happen and I will do all in my power to make it happen!!! Mostly with Prayer without ceasing!
Just like that it looks and feels like spring! We are so ready!!! Bless-bless, Barbara and the 50! 33 here and 17 in heaven including our parents. How they must be sharing in our joy for our nun to come to the U.S.!!!How we ALL LOVE The Church with no reservation! United in our shard Faith in Jesus, Mary, the Saints and The Church!!!The Saint that is just me - Danielle Rose
“Our way of thinking is attuned to the Eucharist,
and the Eucharist in turn
confirms our way of thinking.” – St Irenaeus

"The Mass is that which
makes the cross visible to every eye;
it placards the Cross
at all the crossroads of civilization;
it brings Calvary so close that even tired feet
can make the journey to its sweet embrace;
every hand may now reach out to touch
it brings Calvary so close that even tired feet
can make the journey to its sweet embrace;
every hand may now reach out to touch
its Sacred Burden,
every ear may hear its sweet appeal,
for the Mass
every ear may hear its sweet appeal,
for the Mass
and the Cross
are the same.
In both there is the same offering of a
perfectly surrendered will of the beloved Son,
same Body broken, the same Blood flowed forth,
the same Divine Forgiveness.
same Body broken, the same Blood flowed forth,
the same Divine Forgiveness.
All that has been said and done and acted
during Holy Mass is to be taken away with us,
lived, practiced, and woven into all the
circumstances and conditions of our daily lives."
lived, practiced, and woven into all the
circumstances and conditions of our daily lives."
O God beyond all praising
Susan/Hallel listened to this over and over before she left to join The Community of the Lamb 14 years ago!
