the fasting that the Lord wishes... "If anyone thirst let him come to me and drink."/Astonished in His presence

So peaceful and loving of my two granddaughters in Delano on Ash Wednesday.  The fading ashes after a day at school and eating, sleeping and being changed for the 2 1/2 month old Regina Maria.  The total relaxed peaceful sharing of time together is so sweet and special to see.  9 year old Bernadette is very used to being close to her baby sister.  Siblings is the greatest gift - and these two have 4 other siblings - 3 brothers and another sister!
3 1/2 month old Thomas also peacefully is loved and cared for by mom and 6 older siblings.  He is such a symbol of new LIFE for his large farm family as are his cousins, Regina and Magdalene.  Welcoming a new sibling calls for sacrifice, yet our LOVE grows more with each new LIFE!
Ash Wednesday with the motto we are called to live by and gifted with this Lamb - "Wounded, I will never cease to LOVE!"  Pat and I in our shared morning prayer prayed  for our marriage that we may return the unconditional love and forgiveness we are given by the Lord to each other.  After 43 1/2 years of marriage we certainly have our share of wounds to forgive and forget!
When I first encountered this in the home of the Little Sisters... I first thought that it was from Isaiah 55:1 - the verse my father was reading while on Ignatian Retreat and heard the Holy Spirit call him to come into The Church 50 years ago.  The Little Sister I was with corrected me and showed me that it was from John 7:37!

55 “Come, all you who are thirsty,
    come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!  Isaiah 55:1

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!

I have started now reading a book for Lent that I received from Nancy and Bill when they were given it from their parish 2 years ago for Lent - when my dad came to live with me during Lent 2 years ago, he read it.  I found it in his books and am now amazed at the wonder and beauty that is coming with each day!  I Thirst  40 days with Mohter Teresa by Joseph Langford MC!

The entire chapter 3 - Rivers of living waters is awesome!  It gives such a powerful explanation of the Feast of Tabernacles where Jesus attended - the water taken from the pool by the priest and poured on the desert as a sign of God's Mercy and Love!  Jesus is the one sent to satiate our thirst!  He stands up and cries out - "Come to me all you who thirst!"  The Blood and water coming from the Lamb to quench our Thirst for Lifegiving waters as the woman at the well discovered also!  So much!

Now Pope Benedict today!  This so reminds me of our close encounter with Jesus 2 weeks ago with the Little Sisters and Brothers in KCK!  We were amazed when we gazed upon Jesus as he came down from the mountain with the disciples!  Now into Lent filled with the LIGHT we gained and continue to carry forth!  We truly could experience a similar closeness and our faces were aglow and we were changed.  Allow us to continue to carry it forward into our lives, O Lord!

We had our own private chapel with Jesus - Pat and I would sit just a few feet away from Jesus and do Night Prayer before bed together!  O Lord, we are so blessed by You!
Hallel with us in spirit as we are so blessed by sharing in her Community of the Lamb!  Thankfully we have our American foundation in KCK - Lumen Christi/LIGHT of Christ for the Little Sisters and down the hill - Light of Mary the Mother of God for the Little Brothers!
"Wounded I will never cease to love." in the lighthouse on the hill!
The Lamb - Hallel now wears this around her neck indicating that she is a Bride of the Lamb - Jesus Christ her spouse!
Pat and I sat this close to this Icon of Jesus eating the chin of His Mother, Mary the Mother of God, out of LOVE for her.  She took her to her Son, who was just a few feet away on the altar.  So CLOSE!
Allowed to share in the religious life of my dauther, Little Sister Hallel!  "You have your nun due to discerning your own call."  The Lord spoils me!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: Our marriage stories - "The world needs LIGHTS!"
So very close to Our Lord in Adoration - then Little Brother Isaac brought him to just inches from Pat and I bowing together and holding hands - tears streaming!  Holding our family and our marriage in our hearts, minds and souls!  He is REAL and He LOVES us unconditionally! I am unworthy Lord!

St. Volodymyr Cathedral
Kiev, Ukraine
So many prayers for the People of Ukraine! May lives and this heavenly church we spared, O Lord!

The day has escaped me -

Dad today in the Office of Readings - I was blessed with the beauty of it while I prayed for Fr Denny with 7 Sisters today!
A sacred space in our beautiful church with Jesus in the tabernacle
With Mary at the foot of the Cross...
Praying with another today made it special to be sharing prayer - "where two or three are gathered in my name - there am I!"
The Lamb under the altar has such special meaning to me!  Thank you, Lord, for dying for me and showing me to die to self so that you can live in me.  Jesus, I trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 48.  33 here and 15 in heaven including mom and dad these powerful days of rememberance!
Thank you to my dear friend, Laura, for taking this off to give to me! Such an honor to show "Catholic" to all!

Lent is such a gift to us as we go into the deep!!!
