Yes, this cemetery in the woods overlooking the St Croix River was very reminiscent of the woods in upper Michigan around the Big Lake!
My sister, Mary, died in 1986 and left her farmer husband and 20 month old daughter, Audrey. Eventually my mother played match maker and introduced Jerry to Cathy, a widow, who had lost her husband to drowning. They arrived with Audrey to my mother's burial and outside service, and firstly shared that "Nancy got the two of us together." Cathy, who brought my sister there for me by coming... is a hairdresser and named my topknot a "doodle!" So it has now officially become forever a "doodle", which will be in my hair to the grave!
Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The story of my sister, Mary.
A message from mom to each one of her 12 children! How she yearns for our coming to heaven with her! Our mother loved Jesus in Word and Sacrament in The Church, which dad and mom brought us into 50 years ago! All 13 of us!Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!
7 of the 11 gathered 2 years ago to bid her farewell . We all know that when you are blessed with family - you also are very close to others as a result and feelings get hurt and there are different opinions and values. The words of Jesus to Peter today about forgiveness rings as Truth! Peter approached Jesus and asked him,“Lord, if my brother sins against me,how often must I forgive him?
As many as seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times..." Matthew 18 It would be crazy to actually keep count when you are asked to forgive that many times - 77 times! What do you do when you reach that number? You forgive again, because you realize that it brings with it peace and healing... This brings to life the motto of The Community of the Lamb - "Wounded, I will never cease to love!"
I am currently giving myself a talking to about how I have already gone overboard with trying to get my family together after discovering yesterday at lunch that our nun will be coming to the U.S. for Easter and then come to the farm for some time. How I yearn to have us all together! I guess to the point that I am trying to control the situations, so already this morning as Pat and I shared morning prayer - I realize that I am not in control, only Jesus! I love Blessed Charles de Foucauld's word of surrender and humility - "dear last place."
I feel that I will now be less vocal and pushy about my wishes, and admit that I am of course thinking of pictures to capture this and that! What would happen if I did not do that? Too much wanting for something has led me to attempting to take control! And probably a lot of my reasons are off base and selfish! Humble me, Lord, you are in control not I!Brother Victor's entire sharing for today.
Yes, each time I say the Magnificat - the words of Mary to Elizabeth - I know that her humility is what allowed Jesus to enter her womb and His LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT to enter the world of sin and darkness! May I die to self so that you may live in me and use me, Jesus! I am nothing without you! Bless-bless, Barbara
The motto lived out in Hallel's Community of the Lamb while Ruth talks to her sister who is calling from France! She had news for our family - "I will be coming for Easter in KCK and then after the Octave of Easter, I will be able to come home to Marshall!"
So many prayers are being answered - now I must step back and know that Jesus is in control! Jesus, I trust in you.
The Holy Spirit amazed me! We were all together gathered around the table for lunch on the farm in the midst of a big day of calving - over 7 calves - and I had just come back from delivering meals on wheels in Balaton for gas when Ruth invited me in for her wonderful burgers on the grill! The last time we all were together for a family lunch on the farm was maybe years... so beautiful in every way! O Lord, you spoil us with your LOVE!
LOVE this!
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
I love to watch my girls do this as well as my daughter-in-law, Bobbi!
Pat's mother while on hospice for 2 years in her home with the help of family - had her children gathtered around repeat this with her at bedtime each night! LOVE!
Fatima is coming very close these days with the war started by Russia with Ukraine! Our Lady, hear our prayers for peace!
In St Peters? Yes! How we are blessed with our Rosary - Mary taking our needs to her Son! World Peace is our prayer as well as in our homes!
Danielle Rose - writes all her music in adoration. She has written a song for every decade of the rosary - all 20! This last song is about True LOVE- the Cross and Hallel listened to it over and over before she left for France 9-11-08!
