Home again!!
Hector hugs are so sweet and special!
An open mouth smile for her wonderful home and family!
Soft bunny with crinkly ears was in a box of gifts from other mothers of "Cranio kids." We kind of joke that she has an "angry bird" face. It will improve with time as the swelling gets better. Maria says that pictures of other little ones with this problem and corrective surgery look like this.
Happy to be the center of so much love! Familiar faces through her puffy eyes and her toys.
Smiles for her siblings!
Mom catching up with the kids as she has been gone for 4 days at Seattle Childrens!
Protecting her head - she is so happy to be able to crawl around. She was limited due to all her tubes - now freedom!
Maggie watches all the yard work and wants to join the fun and work!
Our celebratory meal of pasta! Patrick is there with bells on as they all heap plate after plate! Grandma loves to spoil them with CARBS!Maggie loves her spaghetti too!!!
These words from Jesus in the Gospel today in John 14 - Maggie surely has more peace to now be in her home surrounded by love and care!
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid... John 14:27
The boys out for a light saver battle in the freshly mowed back yard after our pasta supper. Tonight will be Oma and my last night here, so we have plans to have a campfire with hot dogs and marshmallows!
A bit more mowing and the yard will be a showplace indeed! A great battle ground so that grandma can have her sanity.
After supper dad played his guitar and Maggie bounced to the music, and the other kids would dance around dad.
Night prayers with Maggie - how we have been praying for her without ceasing! Thank you, Jesus, for answering our prayers. She is such a wonderful example of a "miracle baby."6 month old Bernadette 9 years ago on the farm while mom and dad were in Europe for a wedding.
Getting the word that Maggie is coming home!!
Hector wants to push the baby stroller, but sister, Evie, wants the turn first.
Posing for grandma
"Take my picture, grandma."
Maggie is home!!!
So happy and excited!!!
2013 on this day as Berna is looking at the cows on the horizon.
Now by the grain bins 9 years ago!
Puffy eyes as she eats her eggs and 3 year old brother pretends to do a battle with the angry bird/cranio sister Maggie - now 4 days post op, home and doing so wonderfully!
Just playing with her - no actual contact!
She is happy to be with her family and not in the scary hospital. She clung to her mom and did not want to let her out of Maggie's sight
No more hospital gowns!
That's a smile believe me!
Peaceful and healing is the best medicine!
Also dancing with her brother Romeo. Open mouth smile now...Open mouth smile pre surgery!
They will return for our sweet girl!
Oh, Maggie, we are so happy to have you home! So many giggles and JOY here today as we celebrate her healing and good results. You have certainly blessed us with peace, O Lord and Lady! So much so that Oma and I can return to our lives in Minnesota and Wisconsin tomorrow! Pat could be late picking me up as they are putting cows and calves out on pasture, and when the farm kids get home from school he can hopefully get away to get his better half - me - more like his Most Cherished Cross! Jesus, we trust in you. Bless-bless, Barbara and the military family - all of us in the same place on base at JBLM! So much Peace and JOY!!!
So true!!!
Yes, Pat, that is why I do you the favor of being your Most Cherished Cross! And you for me!!!
