Moments before the military family left they gathered on Ruth's beautiful porch to give me this gift of their smiles and love.
I always have to take 3 to feel like I have covered it well. How we loved to have them here for some days including our gathering for our 44th wedding anniversary mass and renewal of vows!
Major Joseph spoke boldly about how important it was for them to witness our renewing our vows - "It is so important to our marriages to see your example of making it 44 years and beyond."

Nancy left on Thursday and stopped at farm fest in Redwood on the way back to Delano. We went from a house full to now just Pat and I.
Cousin friends that are just 10 months apart - Josephine and Joy!
One month apart - Regina at 7 months and Tom at 8 months! It is so great to see them starting to relate to each other!Entertained by them having an ice cream cone at our party
Giggles all around the room!
Bare feet and ice cream face and hands...
Tom would pat her on the arm from time to time.
Tom and Magdalene shortly before she left - in a couple weeks she will go with her family to Viginia for a year.
Magdalene is 6 months older than Tommy, and looking like cousin friends already...Birdie and Magdalene are a year apart and are getting to be friends, too!
Grandma had fun dressing them in eyelet dresses thanks to Walmart and grandma's obsession in dressing up the little ones!
Joy and Josephine
This group of 3 girls are all 5 going on 6 together.
The 3 boys in 6 weeks...Hector, George, Jude!
With boys I guess a gun of some sort goes with the pictures.
My view from the special chairs and they went from youngest to oldest in affirming Pat and I! The tears flowed! Renewing our vows - we repeated to each other the same vows we said 44 years ago.
I, (Patrick), take you, (Barbara), to be my (wife/husband). I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.
The result of the 44 years! So blessed!
34 including one in the womb and Hallel with us in spirit from France! I am holding the Lamb with the truthful words of marriage sacrifice - "Wounded, I will never cease to love." I love how the tabernacle containing Our Lord is between us and united with us!
Dear friend Fr Denny gave us the best gift there is in the world! Jesus in His Word and Body and blood! Also 3 grandsons so beautifully served with great reverence!
So many wonderful words of affirmation from youngest to the oldest!
Tears flowing at their beautiful words of LOVE!
Our greatest JOY sharing our Faith as a family on the farm!
Faith/Family/Farm!
They crowned us Queen and King and then sat all around us and each spoke from the heart! Son-in-laws thanking us for our daughters, tears with the sharing from them...
Teary face yet joyful smiles!
My King - My Most Cherished Cross! By embracing him I have received LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT on this journey now 44 years long!
Maria and happy sweet Tom shortly before they left.
Sweet indeed with smiles for all!
Maggie too...
Two cousin/friends until next time...
Hugs
fingers in mouth...
Our final meal - Ruth and Paul thanks for hosting the crazy noisy times on the farm in the summer of 2022.
It is big and wonderful, but the peace we have after is enjoyable too.
Miracle boy, Patrick, is now 9 and Bernadette is one month younger!
Now the 3 - Rose is 5 months older and turned 10 in May. Best cousin buddies!
Yes, the 2 Davids! Military Dave is 12 going on 13 and Farm boy Dave is 14 a few weeks ago!
3 year old Hector pondering the farm, and Ruth's beautiful garden!
Parting hugs after our special times together!
Family times are the best!!!
Yes, my anniversary Bridal bouquet is now dried, but still special to me! It came with me as I prayed for Fr Denny with 7 Sisters yesterday and speaks of the many years of married LIFE that have been lived and hopefully many more to come with my Most Cherished Cross! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and HallelujahAt the foot of the Cross with Mary, the Mother of God!
8 years ago doing sweet corn with Rose and Mary in my old kitchen - it is now Ruth and Paul's bedroom and the kitchen is on the other side of the house where Ruth can view the yard from her command center!
44 years with many ups and downs, but mostly feeling very blessed.
So touched by the words from each of our family! Pool pictures from Ruth's pool on the farm! Too much to share!
St Luke with me - my patron Saint when I joined The Church 50 years ago!

Transfiguration of the Lord
"From the cloud came a voice which said,
'This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him.' " — Mark 9:7
Matthew 17:1-8; Mark 9:2-9; Luke 9:28-36

"At His Transfiguration Christ showed His disciples
the splendor of His beauty, to which
He will shape and color those who are His:
‘He will reform our lowness
configured to the body of His glory’”
(Phil 3:21) (St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologiae).

“As He then lived upon earth,
so now He lives in our midst,
but transfigured and veiled
to the bodily eyes
[in the Blessed Sacrament].”
