Our day in Charlottsville - bejeweled with St Bernard and Mary- "what we love we will grow to resemble"/Maggie time

 -

15 month old Maggie with cow pitcher and monk!

So much fun with time alone with just Maggie this morning as the others went to mass on this feast of St Bernard today and Our Lady, Mary Queen of heaven and earth!  St Bernard loved Our Lady!
A ray of sweetness and sunshine on our day in Charlottsville as grandma tries to get my computer working here.
Sitting on both ends of the table with Maggie making me take too many pictures.
Just Maggie and I in this huge empty house which will start filling up shortly as our livestock trailer gets emptied.  Someone from the neighborhood has come to the door at 7:30 to help.
This girl, Evangeline, has made me necklace and bracelets to feel bejeweled and appreciated after a long journey here over the last couple days.  The traffic and big cities in the East were challenging.
Thanks, Evie!  I love them!!!
A family portriat only missing the two youngest while they share on line with Therese's Catholic High School prayer gathering on line!
Another angle
LOVE this!
Farmfest shirt - Patrick is now 9, and he loves to come visit on the farm!
Applesauce made on  Monday for our 6 families, and now delivered to our military family in Charlottsville, Virginia.  They love our homemade applesauce, and eat it sparingly for dessert!
The welcoming committee with Our Lady in this "wrong side of the tracks" home in Virginia.  We drove through the U of Virginia campus to get here!

The Catholic Fundraiser the night before we left.
A group shot of 2 daughters, son-in-law, and daughter in law, Bobbi - it was her birthday!
The birthday girl with hubby, Son John
now the 3 kids!
Future HRS student following his 6 older siblings.
Wisconsin Dells on the left as we zoomed down the highway....

14 hours both days with traffic, accidentally we went through Chicago, and it was everything we had heard... terrible - I almost got out of the car and took the bus home.
Happy 150th Anniversary to Marshall, MN!
Watching the sunrise with windmills all over the place as we leave Remington, IL where we spent the night surrounded by corn fields and bean fields and a small town to give us some peace and comfort.  I am frazzled and mentally exhausted today.  Prayers are my strength!
Capturing the windmills with the rising sun.
Truck and trailer with all the semis filling the reststop.
Presenting me with my jewels to queen me!  1 feel special after feeling down and defeated for much of the trip.
Our grapes finished in short order.
Sharing food - Pat always has a baby on his lap!
All around the table catching up - nice big table is full!
Farmer Pat here to unload the trailer and tomorrow we are going home to the farm again.
One year ago we were chopping silage due to the drought, which is plaguing us this year also.  .8 of rain since we left 3 days ago... we are grateful but praying for "bountiful rains!"
The Salsa Queen, Joy, a year ago.  When we return we will have tomato canning to do, and also the State Fair to work around.  Sigh!  Never a dull moment with dreams of some peace to reign.
Our canning crew last year this time.
We love our Salsa around here.
Yes, Ruth knows how to grow tomatoes by the bushel or 6 gallon pails as we call them now.
She held my hand all the way here through mountains with trucks all around us, stopped at a standstill for half an hour outside of Chicago, city traffic, short tempers, and yes prayer to help us - we did share a rosary and morning prayer both morning when it was light enough to read.
A great saint to travel with us on Thursday - his feast day!
Lots of time in West Virginia as we listened to a John Grisham book that takes place in the Appalachian Mountains as we traveled through them including towns he mentions in Gray Mountain.  Talk about relating to what he shares.
Our first rain!  Good thing Joseph covered all the windows in the livestock trailer when we left Fort Lewis, WA!
She holds our hand and protects us.  How we are depending on her to protect our family living with the poor like The Little Sisters do in Kansas City and around the world!

Closer and really loving my new phone and portrait camera.
Hector is my companion as we stay out of the way of the unload.  Maggie is up for her nap.
Loving my new camera... so fun!  Hector is one of our 3 boys who are now three and only 6 weeks apart.
His spaceship pig that is taking time and keeping busy!

Many of these as I was carried away with cuteness while the others were at mass lifting up our day.  "There were 4 priests concelebrating on the altar!"  We can use all the help - spiritual as well as all the physical work of heavy lifting.

Responsorial Psalm PS 85:9AB AND 10, 11-12, 13-14

R. (see 10b)  The glory of the Lord will dwell in our land.
I will hear what God proclaims;
the LORD–for he proclaims peace.
Near indeed is his salvation to those who fear him,
glory dwelling in our land...

Yes, Lord, we need peace in the midst of the chaos here as we bring in boxes to empty our heavily laden trailer!  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless, Barbara and the 54 - 34 with us and 20 in heaven.

I wanted to play this yesterday when the reading from Ezekial was the bones coming to life!
