First hour of Monday for family- "Jesus and Mary, I love you save souls"/The paralytic/2nd week of Advent PEACE

We had the joy of visiting The Parsonage across the street from our chuch to see the work Ruth has done to make it special for Christmas.  Thomas was so special with his happiness in grandpa Pat's arms and his Christmas look to add to the beauty all around us!

The little truck is a salt shaker that Ruth found second hand, and he goes to it and holds it even though it is a salt shaker.

Grandpa with his sweet Tom-Tom on the 2nd Sunday of Advent after we had shared mass and Camp Foley Pancake breakfast with our family of 15.

All our 5 went to Camp Foley, and now grandkids Simon, Mary and David have gone.  Next year it will be Rose Again's turn to go to Camp Foley.  I went the year Hallel/Susan went - which would be 26 years ago, and she is my youngest of the 4 girls followed by John.

Whisker tickle...
Tom is one as of November 19th, and is starting to stand alone without holding on and soon walking and then running.
Feeling like a big boy!  Next week his cousin, Regina will be one on the 16th of December.   Soon our 23rd grandchild will give us the gift of more LOVE!
I found this from dad's man, Brother Victor, very special yesterday.
Stillness, contemplating our Lady awaiting the arrival of Jesus, Bible reading and boy is Isaiah so special today!  As Pat said the other night about how he says so many wonderful things we can HOPE and look forward to in our perfect place in heaven forever with Jesus.  We must always be prepared for we know not when we will be called from this world!

Reading I Is 35:1-10

    The desert and the parched land will exult;
the steppe will rejoice and bloom.
They will bloom with abundant flowers,
        and rejoice with joyful song.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to them,
        the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
They will see the glory of the LORD,
        the splendor of our God.
Strengthen the hands that are feeble,
make firm the knees that are weak,
Say to those whose hearts are frightened:
        Be strong, fear not!
    Here is your God,
        he comes with vindication;
    With divine recompense
        he comes to save you.
Then will the eyes of the blind be opened,
        the ears of the deaf be cleared;
Then will the lame leap like a stag,
then the tongue of the mute will sing.

"Pray, read, sing and eat by the Advent wreath..."

Praying last evening by the Advent wreath with hubby on this 2nd Sunday of Advent.  Yes, Advent was a very wonderful time in our home also as the kids were growing up... we would gather as a family and share all the things that Brother Victor mentions other than eating by the Advent wreath.  We would share Bible stories, lives of the Saints, and praise and worship songs I had learned as a Protestant at summer camps.  So much JOY shared!

I am getting excited knowing that we are coming up to our 51st anniversary of coming into The Catholic Church - all 13 of us!

Hubby reading Evening prayer by the Advent wreath last night.  I had the opportunity to share my story of coming into The Church with friends at a Christmas party yesterday!  I also shared an insight I have gotten over these 44 years of marriage to this man.  "He is such a determined man, and he told his sisters years before we met that he would only marry a Catholic.  I think that it is possible that he was instrumental in our entire family of 13 coming into The Church 51 years ago!"

Family Soul Story - Choose Life!: The amazing story of the 13 becoming Catholic!

2 candles lit as we pray together.  A dear TEC friend shared today this quote from Fr Delp... "This should be our first Advent light: to understand everything, all that happens to us and all that threatens us, from the perspective of life's character of waiting...The character of life is to keep going, to keep lookout...' (From the writings of Fr Delp, a German Jesuit priest, condemned to death by the Nazi regime in Berlin, 1945)

The Gospel today is the paralytic from Luke 5:17-26. Such an important image of our John when he battled brain cancer and was lowered in front of Jesus by his hundreds of prayer warriors/friends!

His Spirit Juice sharing continues now with wife and children.

John and I pray together as our hours of Adoration overlap - his the last hour of Sunday and mine the first hour of Monday.  We visit and pray for our needs together.
It is so special and appropriate to pray on Monday and for all of our family - my side with 140+ and Pat's with 110+.  Why?  When my father lived with me the last 6 months of his life here on the farm on hospice... Monday was the day that he would pray for our huge family by name - first and middle names!  I was smiled big with lots of JOY as I prayed for the first time for a baby in the womb that I have just heard about.  LOVE!

I found a lot of turmoil and sadness filling me last night as I went down the litany of family.  With so many there are many wounds and darkness, and placing them in the monstrance with Jesus and praying with hope for them takes a lot of TRUST.  "Jesus and Mary, I love you.  Save souls."  I repeat numerous times and it fills me with HOPE and PEACE.

The second week of Advent brings us to PEACE and how we come to that peaceful place in our prayer filling our inner temple.  Just back from my trip to Balaton with Meals on Wheels in my chapel on wheels with my rosary beads passing through my fingers and peace in my heart, mind and soul!

A poem by Rita Simmons about the paralytic today

"...I am raised up and lowered down to lie in wait at the feet of the man- Jesus the Nazorene who fogives my sins and commands me to rise.  My limbs come alive.  I stand and weep, knowing the weight of my sins, the weight my friends carried, the weight Jesus lifted from me."  Rita Simmons

Yes!!!

Maria shared a picture of them working on Belgian cookies as a family.  The time is flying by until they will be here for CCC and VCC!  Christmas Camps are our JOY!
Birdie smiling - we had Jude and Birdie for part of the weekend
Felix is the kid cat...
Water color time is part of our time together.
She likes the orange lines.
Movie in grandma's room
Hot tub time with swimsuits, bubbles and "shower head"
Grandma showed them that I have a "slide" in my tub, and that was a big surprise to them.
Ready for grandma to say; "one two three slide!"  They also had to run around the circle with grandma couting the times around.
Birdie admired by "little girl brush" gifted to me by Pat's sister, Rattera, and she uses hers on her two granddaughters in Seattle, where she is now living.
First brush grandpa's hair...
Then grandpa can brush Birdie's hair.  So sweet to see Pat gently brushing a little granddaughter's hair.  After he had 4 girls and "then you had that boy!"
December 4th is St Barbara, who is the prototype for Rapunzel, as she was put in a tower by her father, when she wanted only to wed Jesus.
Welcome Jesus in!!!
John and Bobbi came in the morning to get the 2 ready for mass at 8a.
"Mommy!"
How I loved to have Joy make my pictures special dressed in a beautiful Christmas dress that has been handed down from girls - both sisters and cousins older than Joy!  Joy is granddaughter #7 with 2 since her. They will probably wear this dress too in a few years!  LOVE!
So amazed at this view of our beloved Holy Redeemer Catholic Church yesterday!
There is my name. Joy is what you are, too, sweet happy loving girl, Joy Jean!
10 years ago - 4 year old David wanting to bring Bullseye to his house as a pet.  Grandpa explains that he needs to stay on the farm so grandpa can feed him every day and then he will feed the world in a few months!  Hard life lessons on the farm!

Jeuss, how we are kept in a constant state of prayer as we are immersed in this season of Advent.  May we die to self so that you may use us as your hands, feet and voice.  Bring peace and healing and forgiveness in our families as we gather to share LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT.  Jesus, we trust in you.  Bless-bless. Barbara and the 34.

PRAYER FOR HOLY PRIESTS
(St Charles Borromeo)
O Holy Mother of God,
pray for the priests
your Son has chosen to serve the Church.
Help them, by your intercession,
to be holy, zealous and chaste.
Make them models of virtue
in the service of God’s people.
Help them to be prayerful in meditations,
efficacious in preaching,
and zealous in the daily offering of
the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Help them administer the sacraments with joy.
Amen

Let us generously remember our priests in daily prayer -
especially in this holy Advent season.
These special days are filled with many extra duties.
