Our friend Fr Denny this morning bedecked in pink indicating that this is the 3rd Sunday of Advent - Gaudete Sunday or Rejoice Sunday. It was especially wonderful to see the altar devoted to Our Lady of Guadalupe, whose feast day is tomorrow. The pink candle in the Advent wreath is now lit for this 3rd week of Advent.
A special pink sunrise on this Gaudete Sunday!
Our porch lit on this pink morning of Gaudete Sunday - we are filled with great JOY as we rejoice always. Again we say - Rejoice!
Pink vestment and pink candle lit for the 3rd Sunday of Advent.
We recall that Pat's dear mother, Anna Verly, passed away on Gaudete Sunday 2016. That year it was the same date as today - December 11th! It allowed us to spend the week saying goodbye to Pat's mom and then going to our beloved CCC.
No Rose, Mary or Joy today to visit Our Lady in her glory! They went to mass last night.
Advent wreath and Our Lady makes our hearts rejoice at the wonder of it all! She came and converted Millions! Her black tie indicates that she is pregnant with Jesus, and is the Patron of LIFE!
6 years ago Mary and Rose visit Our Lady on the day that their wonderful Great-grandma entered heaven after over a year on hospice. How we are remembering her this day of the anniversary of her death.
We spent the evening with the family in Delano, and grandpa made Belgian cookies to their joy! It is fun to see our family heritage carried now down to our kids and now our grandkids - Nancy is half Belgian, and her kids are 1/4 and each Christmas they enjoy Belgian cookies made by their grandpa Pat - 100% Belgian! "Do I have a heritage?" asked hubby this morning in the midst of making piles of cookies - "Yes!" This sweet girl will be one on Dec 16th - the first day of CCC! Her other grandma sent her this precious dress, so we did a photo shoot for her first birthday in front of the snowy backdrop outside their patio door last evening.
Dad called her his "cabbage patch girl." She is so gentle and happy.
LOVE this gentle soft look too.
Regina Maria means Queen Mary, so all the Mary feast days including tomorrow for Our Lady of Guadalupe is special to her Spiritual Mother for whom she is named!
A most precious card arrived from Bishop LeVoir - such a cherished lovely greeting to us!
How we are blessed to have this simple yet lovely Christmas greeting from our retired Bishop! There is so much I am grateful for all he did in our diocese to bring nuns and religious to dwell and minister to our Diocese. We walk in the door and Regina is in grandpa's arms while they made spritz.
Reading 1 Is 35:1-6a, 10
The desert and the parched land will exult;
the steppe will rejoice and bloom.
They will bloom with abundant flowers,
and rejoice with joyful song.

and rejoice with joyful song.
Beautiful reading from Isaiah this morning! Wow!
We have word that one year old Tom is starting to walk behind their shopping cart. Regina decided to ride in hers - she is a month younger than Tom! Pushed by her brother, George.
Making Christmas treats in the kitchen and giving Gina a ride in the shopping cart.
Now she has a blanket to make her warm!
Her birthday suit before her 1 year birthday pictures...
Thanks, Marlene Bandzuch, for this cute 1 year birthday outfit! The other grandma/me had so much fun getting some special pictures for her first birthday in less than a week!
Pat commented that all the new babies in our kids' families are so loved by their older siblings! There is nothing more wonderful or greater gift than to have another sibling to share your life with always. LIFE is the greatest of gifts and we are open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS for the world!
Making spritz with their new spritz gun and food coloring that is very vibrant! Wow!
Fun to see Nancy carrying forth some of our traditions down through the years.
A stunning picture of the wonderful feeling of New LIFE against your chest after the pain of giving birth is complete with the arrival of your new baby. Mary experienced this as do each one of us, who have been blessed with motherhood! How would she have felt knowing that this was God?!?
Bless-bless, Barbara and John and kids and hubby Pat here to watch the game.
