Day after day of sun on our parched earth.. still there is a joy and beauty of the golden November landscape highlighted by the cloudless sky day after day! Our Lady framed in the gold glow of nature warmed by the morning sun... she gives us the bearings to the TRUTH... her Son the Savior of the World! "This is the way... come to me and I will bring Him close to you within your heart, mind and soul... I will give you the "oil" you need to keep your lamp burning brightly for all the world to see."
After working overnight at the nursing home Friday night... this strangely shaped cloud intrigued me on the horizon as I was driving home. I pondered it and suddenly realized that it had the shape of Christ with his arms open to welcome the world onto himself! I tried to get a picture for a while, and finally pulled over to the side of the road to get one as He stood over the lights of the city of Ghent. Jesus, how you long for us to turn to you, and to leave all our burdens at your feet!
"Everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says: "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light." Watch carefully then how yo live, not as foolish persons but as wise." Ephesians 5: 14-15
"The favors of the Lord are not exhausted, his mercies are not spent; They are renewed each morning, so great is his faithfulness." Lam 3: 22-23
Wow! This is an amazing promise to us... giving us the hope and courage to face each day, with all the challanges that it holds! The death of a young 23 year old girl yesterday to brain cancer, and the accidental death of a husband and father... the unpredictable nature of life and death and our day to day existance comes to us very clearly at times like this. We are grateful for each new day, and ask the Lord to be at our side as we step out of our me-ness, and "see" how we can serve those around us in need! May our light shine forth!
Lord Jesus with your Mother at your side... we long to come to you on this cloudless morning... reminding us that you promise to renew us each morning with your merciful love. The weight and worry of the world remind us of our weakness, and need for you to give us the strength and light that we need to shine forth upon those around us - mostly within our domestic Church - our families! We are lifted to your shoulders and with joy you bring us back to YOU! Jesus, we trust in you! Amen and Halleluia
