Pat came to Michigan and made a big splash!!!

Our quiet lazy existence in Michigan came to a halt when the storm called Patrick Verly arrived for our last 5 days there.  Yes, we were able to sleep in more than at home, but there was much we were to do from fixing the plumbing and missing a boat trip to Superior and staining the deck as well as the railings.  It was a good thing to wake us from our slow and relaxed mode and actually get some things done to make the cabin beautiful and safe - figuring out how to fix the smoke detectors in the wood cabin - for years to come.  When my parents moved away and asked if among us kids - if any wanted to buy it from them and take over the care and maintenance of it ... our kids told us not to, but now they see that it was a great investment and the only way to get their dad away from the farm for even just under a week in the summer!  A place that we have grown to LOVE and the grandkids talk about for the year through in dreams of the next year.  How they love to have their dads there to share in the week of FAMILY, and then their wonderful champion for LIFE - grandpa!

Although things get stirred up and the waves start rolling over us when grandpa arrives... we all LOVE to have him there to share the beauty of Michigan and the Big Lake with us.  Jesus, we thank you for the wonder of Patrick Gerard Verly and the way he brings us so much zest for LIFE.  He has instilled in our family that LOVE for LIFE is number one and openness to LIFE is where we find LOVE everlasting!  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Bless-bless, Barb
Photos by Nancy on our walk out to the lighthouse on Friday night before we headed for home, and our wonderful LIFE on the farm.
The waves of the Big Lake have been replaced by waves of green in my garden and the corn is taller than me!  The heat is making them grow fast - more rain please dear Lord!
From my waist to over my head in two weeks - Wow!
