Pat is a man who never says "No." I on the other hand find it easy and a relief to admit that something is not going to happen. I suppose looking at these statements I should realize that I am a negative person and Pat is positive. But to what extents is positive healthy to all those around you? Living close to the tornado named Patrick Verly is very emotionally exhausting and frustrating as he has so much that he needs to accomplish before he can look at getting away from the farm. As he said this morning - "I have responsibilities!" So why not just say that it isn't going to work to go to the Twins game? We all love to do things with Pat, but sometimes the cost of getting there is too emotional and crazy to go through. Well, they are on the road and it looks like they will be half an hour late for the game, but another thing we say about Pat is that he always lands on his feet. Maybe with the new stretch of highway we take and without rush hour to deal with - they will get there in time, but then there is always the joy of the season in Minnesota called highway construction... As you can see I am in the midst of praying for them to have smooth travels and a wonderful father-son time together. What do I learn from all this other than the value and help I find in prayer? I see that if you continue to not say "no" that things can happen and we can carve out those special times we can have with husband/father, Patrick Gerard Joseph Verly. When you are finally driving down the driveway and heading out on a special time together it feels so amazing and we thank God that he never says "no" until even the last minute in our eyes and minds. It is what we have to do to spend time with him, and we would all say that it is worth it. So, Lord, please be with them and give them God's speed without a speeding ticket. Once again this is an experience we should take a lesson on being positive from, until the next time when I want to scream at the top of my lungs -----"NO!!!!!! This is impossible!!!!" They are just coming back in the door - this did not work out.
Last night at the going back to school bonfire at Ruth and Paul's after sharing mass. John could be winding down his time at home with a big job interview in the Cities in the morning. WE are all hopeful, and prayerful! Lord, we know that you have a wonderful plan for John as he will not be silent in sharing his story of Faith! We place him in your hands and trust.

Today Jesus speaks to the wealthy young man in the Gospel, and we all know that placing being wealthy above God is a hindrance to our journey of Faith. It is wonderful to see these people using the platform they have been given due to their popularity to promote LIFE and moral values related to LIFE! We need to place all things well under our Faith and our Family!
Jesus, thank you for calling us to find Peace with YOU as we carve out those times in our day to love and adore YOU in all that we are swept into in LIFE! We love you and thank you for reaching out and taking our hands as we try to walk on water and begin to sink as we lose our sight of the Truth. Lord, we cherish family, but above even that we cherish our Faith in YOU and your beautiful glorious Bride, The Church! Such graces and gifts are given to us - all we need do is LOVE you - how can you need our LOVE? It is all we have to give you! It is all you ask of us - how can we allow others "things" to distract us and prevent us from giving our small amount of LOVE to you as we adore YOU and worship YOU in the times we carve out in each day. Jesus, may we place all that keeps us from YOU at your feet in the confessional, and then in our gratitude have the mercy you have shown us to give to those in our domestic Church/family. Jesus, we trust in YOU. Amen and Hallelujah

Just got a call from France/Hallel to let us know that she will be here for the dedication of the Little Monastery in Kansas City!
Tomatoes are calling - Tomato soup tomorrow! Family canning day with two of my girls while Pat and John are up in the Cities for a interview for John. Jesus, we trust in YOU.
