"Let the children come to me." Jesus

We took 5 children out for a pasture adventure in the evening.  It was one of the highlights of our family time growing up - busy with life- 5 kids, school, 4H, and of course the biggest part - The Farm - we would take an hour in the evenings to load into the pickup and head out to look at the cows and the calves in the pasture while the sun was setting.  We called it our family vacation.  There were a number of years that we wouldn't take time away from the farm, so we called our quiet time out in the pasture as a family as our vacation.
I will use some of the crazy pictures we tried to get of the 5 while I write today.
I so see in my husband the reality of how Jesus welcomed the children to "come to me."  He loves little ones, and spends so much time holding them and enjoying them, and they in turn love and want to go to him, and spend time with him.  "Let the children come to me" was the motto of openness to family... as we entered our engagement/marriage with... both growing up in large families and wanting that for ourselves, in keeping with John Paul II and The Church guiding us in their wisdom to be open to LIFE in our marriage, and each time we embrace our Most Cherished Cross to never use artificial means of preventing LIFE!  My Champion for LIFE - Patrick Gerard Verly!
It gives us much JOY to see the next generation growing in LOVE/LIFE/LIGHT!
Jesus, we so enjoy spending time enjoying the work of the farm.  Seeing the cows and calves out in the pasture eating the grass of the pasture and drinking from the creek - all the work that went into getting the calves born, nursed, feeding the cows, cleaning up the yards in the winter, moving the snow, all the hours watching gates while he pushed out the manure and snow, so much work goes into each and every calf out there.  Now they are pure joy to watch and enjoy the fruits of all our labors.  So wonderful to have this special time with family to see the beauty of the farm and how the earth is used by them to grow and provide food for the world!  It takes work for a farm family to feed the world, but there is a lot of closeness and goodness that it shared in all that work and time spent on "farming."  Jesus, we trust in YOU.  Amen and Halleluia

"So be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma."  Ephesians 5:1-2
