A snuggle to chase away hiccups on mom's lap on this feast of St Agnes!
Romeo saying; "Bye-bye Dada." after daddy leaves, but we all hear it. Growing so sweetly in the love of Family, Jesus and His Bride, The Church. In The Church is the feast day of wonderful amazing St Agnes today!
He obviously adores his daddy and beams from ear to ear when he plays and holds him! Such a heartwarming sight to behold in this big house filled with family and activity with 2 daughters and their combined 7 kids!
Some light snow today here... it will likely be gone this evening here.
It seems the toddlers are most around grandma and their moms
Most especially Dominic... he has deemed grandma the keeper of his blanket and where his blanket dwells there he will be on a regular basis. I feel very loved and special to receive his smiles and time on my lap!
Sights on this St Agnes feast day making this ordinary day one of beauty and specialness!
In the Gospel today from Mark 3 there is so much pressing on Jesus as the people long to be healed from all their problems and illnesses including unclean spirits. Don't we all struggle with those? St Agnes is such a powerful Saint to appeal to with these struggles in our lives! She is there to help us with all that bombards us with darkness and sin. She was put in a house of prostitution in order to rob her of her virginity and purity and the only man to try to touch her was blinded! She left there totally clean and untouched and pure! How we need that help to resist all the temptations that are all around us!
Dominic finds solace on grandma's lap, and gives her a special blessing as we share family time.
One word from the Gospel today comes to me in the eyes of his protection of St Agnes today - "crush." Jesus felt that he would be crushed by all those pressing upon him, and prevented it from happening. He also prevented the beautiful rose, who loved him above all others, St Agnes, from being crushed by those that wanted to rob her of her innocence! It looked to be impossible, yet he prevented her from being crushed! He will do that for all of us! How wonderful that we are given the gift of this Feast day of high celebration of this virgin martyr, who is now forever in heave with her Jesus to intercede for all at this time of crisis... when virginity/purity and innocence is under attack!
Patrick... one of the many righteous warriors that surround me here.
The little boys too!
Tomorrow is the walk for LIFE as we pray for a show the world that LIFE is to be cherished and protected from conception to natural death!
The day just feels special to us as we share family time.
All 7 quietly playing in the bedroom together while grandma is babysitting..."We are building our house like aunt Ruthie."
Wow! such great kids! I was so happy to find this picture to share.
Romeo engages while the others are hard at building their house...
Jesus, there are at times those moments that can crush us with the noise and activity of the 7, but they pass and become part of the story of being open to LIFE and raising LIGHTS we embrace as a family! We ask ST Agnes to intercede and protect us from being crushed by all that attempts to mislead us and rob the innocence of our little ones. May we always be vigilant in the battle for purity! May we put on the armor of Christ!
Ephesians 6:10-18New International Version (NIV)
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Jesus, may we be your warriors in the battle for purity and LIFE with St Agnes in the lead holding The Lamb! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Grandma and her snuggle buddy making this day so special for me... Bless-bless, Barbara Luke and the many
Romeo waves such a sweet bye-bye to all! Just wanted to share.
There is a powerful replica statue of St Agnes at The Little Monastery Lumen Christi... It is from the Catholic Church in Hiroshima where after the atomic bomb went off... she was found face down. She had lost a hand, and had protected the Lamb, who was perfect as was all else of the statue!
Ye, Gus, that is St Agnes and she is sharing The Lamb with the world!
The Psalm for today... Psalm 56
I am bound, O God, by vows to you;
your thank offerings I will fulfill.
For you have rescued me from death,
my feet, too, from stumbling;
that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
In God I trust; I shall not fear.
Bernadette with her beautiful rose, and St Agnes watching over the rose of her purity!
Another great example to the young, who suffer.
Food for thought... is dragging doing bearing it willingly?
