All the gifts I have been given by these two listening to the Holy Spirit in our shared journey of Faith and Family... foremost is my Beloved Catholic Church, and before that being Baptized in the Holy Spirit when my parents laid hands on me at age 15. My life has never been the same and each day in The Church has been wonderful in so many ways!

With the tabernacle between them... how I love to sit at their feet in their home, which they still share in fairly good health - dad is 92 and mom is 88.
Today would have been my mother-in-law's 98th birthday! After going through her declining years including almost 2 years on hospice in her home, Pat realizes how much it meant to his mother to have her kids there often sharing in her last years. He called my mother this morning and told her what he also told me... that I should try to get there each month for some days with them! Both of us are thrilled at the thought of so much great time we can share together.

3 years ago on her 95th on the farm where she raised her family... 10 children!
Today is the feast of the Guardian angels to which I pray each day for their protection. With #16 grandchild on the way and all the busyness on the farm... I am in constant prayers for their safety! I have many stories of answered prayers from John saved from a backing up tractor by Susan, to Maria zooming through a stopsign while driving at night in the country and a car passing seconds behind her, to a car stopping seconds away from hitting Ruth and Joy on the road... "that is why I pray to your guardian angels" I am known to say and I mean it and pray from my heart!
Archangel St Michael at church yesterday... I should be saying his prayer more with the state of the world...
I did not grow up saying this at the end of mass, as we converted against the tide leaving after Vatican 2, but it certainly seems to be important to continue on in my personal prayer!
Before leaving for mass, my dad shared about this silver ring he bought while in the Holy Land about 30-40 years ago. "I was attracted to the idea of my friendship with Jesus, and it came up again in this Psalm prayer I shared which reminds me that we are "happy to be known as the companions of your Son Jesus." He shared that he put in on his finger when he purchased this silver ring and has not taken it off since.
I have noticed that my parents are imparting their deepest thoughts and insights with me while I spend time with them. I often feel that I should have a notebook with me and write down notes. Here is the psalm prayer once again that dad memorized last Thursday as it contained so much beauty and Truth!
Psalm prayer after Psalm 57 "Lord, send your mercy and your truth to rescue us from the snares of the devil, and we will praise you among the peoples and proclaim you to the nations, happy to be known as the companions of your Son Jesus."
So powerful and each word and thought is TRUTH/this is what my parents are dedicating their constant prayer to in our huge growing family now 121 strong!
My Godson, Danny, came to visit with his family/my brother Jim's, and played Chopin for us! Using his God given gifts to touch us all!
My dad has always made breakfast for our family, and each morning he loves to serve me. Mom shared that he would make breakfast for us while mom was busy getting the babies up and dressed as well as the growing family - I am the oldest of 11! I do recall dad making us pancakes on Saturdays, and I still make the homemade syrup I would watch him make for us.
The beautiful altar to Our Lady was decked out and busy with many coming forward to light candles and pray. Love her so much, and am so happy to have her with me on my journey down the narrow path. I rejoice that Jesus gave her to us at the foot of the cross and we are to bring her into our homes! She was very much with me at my parents home, as she led us into The Church when my mother developed a devotion to her as a Protestant minister's wife... there is no place to be but The Church when you come to love her and she brings us to her Son and His Bride, The Church!
Jesus, in the Gospel today you remind us that we need to "become like little children" and that "their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father." Matthew 18 How we long to come to you and we pray that each day we can give without counting the cost and die to self so that you may live in us and use us as your hands and feet. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen and Hallelujah
Home again, and so grateful that I am allowed to spend time with my parents and share in their wisdom and prayer. Each time I am grateful and thankful and ask their guardian angels to watch over them because as my mom is famous for saying "aging is a shipwreck." May they miss the rocks and land on sugar sand on the beach. Bless-bless, Barbara Luke, oldest of 11 thanks to amazing parents that were open to life and listening to the Holy Spirit in raising LIGHTS for the world! So blessed to spend time with family that comes and goes from my parents home! Fed at the table of Family sharing their Faith!
So gifted!!!
Committed to Christ!!! A bond for LIFE! How did I get so lucky to have this wonderful family and journey supreme? I am humbled and long only to share The Truth in return... sharing his "mercy and Truth to save us from the snares of the devil!"

Like I say... we have too much each day! A quote like this is so much! So beautiful and so True!

Her feast day yesterday... trumped by Sunday, but still so important to hold close to our hearts!

My 7 in heaven, my sister, Mary, and now my mother-in-law help me keep my eyes on heaven, where I long to be forever with Jesus!

When we pray with the grandkids this is one of our prayers each night!
Casting Crowns - If we are the Body
Casting Crowns - Praise you in the storm

I have heard that some have come to faith after surviving this, and many guardian angels were at work. So very sad!
"It was during the Mass at 6:30 in the morning, at the moment of Consecration. A dazzling light suddenly shone forth...I had the feeling that this adorable splendor was that of the Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. Struck to the heart I could only repeat, 'My Lord and My God!'
At the same moment there appeared the outline of the angels in prayer before the shining Host. They were kneeling all around the altar in a semi-circle, their backs toward us. There were eight of them… They did not have wings, but their bodies were enveloped in sort of a mysterious luminescence which clearly distinguished them from humans.
Amazed, not believing my eyes, I opened and closed them, rubbed them, but nothing changed. All eight were there to adore the Most Blessed Sacrament in an attitude of great devotion. ...
At the moment of Communion, my guardian angel approached me to invite me to advance to the altar. At that moment, I clearly distinguished the guardian angels of each member of the community close to their left shoulders, and of the height a little smaller than each. Like my guardian angel they gave truly the impression of guiding and watching over them with sweetness and affection. This scene in itself opened my eyes to the profound meaning of the guardian angel, better than any theological explanation, even the most detailed. After dinner I gave a complete account of this vision to the Bishop… Had they not chosen the Feast of the Guardian Angels to show the example of adoration and to reveal their readiness to lead us to the Lord? ~ Sr Agnes Sasagawa
