John and Bobbi after we shared mass together with 11 month old Goddaughter, Joy in the brightness of sun streaming in through the stain glass windows in John's church for all 29 years of his life!
I had the extreme JOY of taking some of their pictures in both of their churches (John's is Holy Redeemer in Marshall, and Bobbi's is St Eloi in Ghent where they will be married in 3 months) today to be used on wedding invite and at the reception. Joy in this one allows me to use it here today. The 10th station over John's shoulder is very powerful for me... the humility station/Jesus is stripped of his garments. Susan sat there each morning for her Holy Hour and Mass after she came home from the discernment house. "Why are you sitting there, because of it's call to be humble?" "No, it's the last pew with a kneeler so no one can see me crying."
How the words of the Apostles at the Transfiguration today ring True for us gathered together in worship of Word and Sacrament!!! "Lord, how good it is for us to be here!" For us to be together as a family of God listening to Jesus come to us in The readings of the mass/the Gospel, and receiving Jesus in His Body and Blood! Today it was special to watch John administering The Eucharist as a Eucharistic minister of proclaiming ; "Body of Christ" and giving the consecrated host to all of us - Bobbi, myself, and then to the 3 grandchildren that are now receiving Communion each Sunday - Simon, Mary and David.
Sharing mass as a family is the pinnacle of our week! Sunday mass along with my hour of Adoration are the deepest and most powerful times of my week! "Lord, how good it is for us to be here!" comes from the bottom of my heart!!!
It was so sweet to see them pause to pray to Mary, the Mother of God, in both churches! St Therese is Bobbi's patron saint, too. So special to see the two of them together in the Ghent church!
John asked Bobbi to marry him here around Thanksgiving time. The time is flying by and soon they will be married! I looked back to see them pausing to have a tender prayerful moment with Our Lady!
Bobbi was sharing that this marks the one year anniversary of their first date. "It was confirmation Sunday in Ghent, so I came over to Holy Redeemer for mass that morning, John came over and said that we should get together and catch up after all these years." The story is even more of a Holy Spirit moment in that Pat noticed Bobbi there and mentioned to John that he should spend some time with her. "She's a nice girl, John." The rest is history!
It is a good sign to know how much John loves his two mothers... me and Our Lady. It speaks of how he will respect and love his Bobbi!
"If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all,
how will he not also give us everything else along with him?" Romans 8
With great confidence we give our all to Jesus without counting the cost!

Jesus, we love to be with you so closely and warmly as we share Mass... you Jesus in Sacrament and Word with our domestic Church/family and all of those brothers and sisters in Christ making up your Church! Bless John and Bobbi as they come closer to being united in the Sacrament of Matrimony. Jesus, we trust in you. Amen
Love this! Mary at the foot of the Cross - Jesus gave her to us as our Mother and us to her as her child! We are then to bring her into our homes and there she will assist us to find a small slice of heaven here in the midst of our domestic Church/family. Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke

After mass and before we took our 130 pictures at both churches. They keep thanking me and I keep telling them that this is my passion!
the 10th station in St Eloi... you can't ever get too much humility in your life!
The Lamb and the Word... both remind me of Hallel and her Community of the Lamb! They read the Gospel starting the night before and represent Christ knocking on the door of the poor!
5 years ago... our first calf!!! Calving has begun for 2018 a bit sooner this year.
The caption from 5 years ago...The first calf is here safe and sound! Thank you, Lord, and may it be a good calving season. John is famous for saying; "Mom, you are pretty great, but there is a Mother better than you." "Yes, John, I so agree!"
there are five graces we receive each time we visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. By His glorious wounds we are the ones who are transfigured and changed through His healing love.
Restoration, sanctification, transformation, reparation and salvation are the graces being poured out graciously upon us with each holy hour we make.
Like Peter... this is why we should exclaim in His Divine Presence,
'Lord, how good it is for us to be here!'"
Yeah!! Pictures from Maria's blog finally!!!! More coming but here is one of their crown of thorns done on Ash Wednesday and for each good deed they get to remove one! Do good kids and be kind and don't count the cost!
