Today is the feast day of The Chair of St Peter and our acknowledgement of The Pope starting with Peter leading us in the ways of Truth!
The feast of the Chair of St Peter commemorates the teaching authority
of the Vicar of Christ. The Catechism teaches that "it is this Magisterium's task
to preserve God's people from deviations and defections and to guarantee
them the objective possibility of professing the true faith without error"
so that "the People of God abides in the truth that liberates" (CCC 890).
Another adorable Luke with a baby calf. Our calving of the season has begun, and we are praying mightily that all will go well...A huge part of our keeping on top of what is going on is our Cow TV! Joy was my poster girl with cow TV in their bedroom yesterday. She was born towards the end of calving season last year, and mom would sit out and nurse her while she would watch the cows.
Last night we watched a cow calf right at bedtime and Ruth went out to pull the calf into the middle of the barn, so that it's loving mother could lick it dry and nurse it. The cow had calved right against the fence, and the calf was out in the 5 degree cold on the other side of the fence. "The cow could only lick the calf's foot." Ruth saved it's life, and that is why we must be vigilant!
The news of the passing of Billy Graham yesterday... a true man of God! Seemed to echo these powerful words of Pope Benedict XVI right up to the point of the Eucharist, which Billy never did come to...

Love this so much!!! Yes, Jesus comes to us each day in The Eucharist! He comes to us each day in The Word, he comes to us through His Mother and her rosary prayer. He comes to us as the Holy Spirit uses us as his hands and feet in sharing the Gospel with words, too! He reveals his healing and forgiveness in the Saints and how they make a difference in the world persevering over all the hardships that come to us as we too are called to become saints!
Joy and Cow TV in Ruth and Paul's bedroom...
Pat was saying this morning that calving is busier than harvest for him. It was a good night's sleep and we are grateful for all of those he can get! Praying for a good peaceful calving season.
From the Gospel today...
Peter said to Jesus: You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God.
And Jesus replied: You are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my Church.
Rest in peace, Billy Graham.

This is why we must not hesitate to pray to Jesus through Mary!!!

This is spelling out for us The Rock, the first Pope St Peter, upon which The Church is built!
Ruth's beautiful Valentines tulips - "David and Paul said they had to stop at HyVee for some milk after church and came out with these for me. They were just the green leaves and they opened up so special." Ruth
Her 9 year old son, David, is a lover and giver of wonderful thoughtful love filled gifts a lot like his dad! It makes me hopeful for spring! And I love how my rosary photo bombed the picture , too!
Ruth told David that she will plant them outside and they can be a gift that keeps giving year after year.
Jesus, we truly do find our happiness and a small slice of heaven here on earth when we put your first and look to your Bride, The Church, to help on our journey to heaven forever with You and Mary!!! May this be true for me in my sharing here..."the objective possibility of professing the true faith without error" If we follow all the teachings of The Church without picking and choosing/shopping cart Catholic than we find your Truth and stick to the narrow path! Jesus, we trust in you. Amen
Our new payloader moving the snow the other morning. Pat calls it his "kitty cat" as it is a CAT. "It is the cat's meow!" He can be so darn cute sometimes! Bless-bless, Barbara Mary LukeRest in peace, Billy Graham.

This is why we must not hesitate to pray to Jesus through Mary!!!

Enshrined in the beautiful Bernini reliquary in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome is the relic of the actual Chair of St. Peter the Apostle, venerated because it was from that very chair that the first Pope, the Vicar of Christ, imparted the Christian faith which was entrusted to him by Jesus Christ, and which has been passed on for 2,000 years through the Catholic bishops, and will continue until Christ returns. The Chair of St. Peter is a symbol of the authority and primacy of the first Bishop of Rome, and, through communion with the Roman Pontiff and his successors, the unity of the Universal Church. The feast day of the Chair of St. Peter is celebrated on February 22nd. #FeastDay
A good read... showing us how he held the Catholic Church in esteem.

Let's pray for our Holy Father today.
"Perhaps it would be a good thing if every Christian,
certainly every priest, could dream once in his life that he were pope,
and wake from the nightmare in a sweat of agony." - Msgr Ronald Knox
