Dad was not up to going to mass with us this morning, so we borrowed a pix and brought Jesus to him. The memories came flooding me of all those times we would share Jesus with Pat's mom for her 20 months on hospice and what a special blessing that was to have with her.
It was a beautiful time to hear my father speak to Jesus and huge for him lately is the final prayer of the Angelus, and the words are so wonderful when shared slowly and with deep prayerful thought!
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord.
Amen.
"Pour forth thy grace into our hearts" O Lord! So powerful to receive you Body and Blood into our hearts, minds and souls!
Mom prayed for dad's healing and strength and help from above through this difficult time they find themselves. We all took turns lifting up our hearts to Jesus, Mary and all the Saints!
It was First Communion Sunday at mass this morning, and May Crowning of Mary. I love how our Church is filled with so much beauty and LIGHT! It was a prayerful and healing time to gather around dad and share The Eucharist together in their home!
Such a deep recognition of His Lord and appreciation for all that he has in his plan for dad and mom... Jesus, we trust in you. You are in control and all we need do is figure out the small details of dad's care giving mom and dad the freedom to enjoy each other a bit longer in their own home together!
The first reading from Acts 10 today is a very wonderful one where the Holy Spirit pours out upon them and the Baptism is now shared with all! The Holy Spirit poured out upon my parents when they had hands laid on them over 50 years ago, and when my mother raised her hand in prayer over my dad today... it was in The Spirit! We did not pray in tongues, but we were in The Spirit... trusting and dying to self so that the Holy Spirit may work in us!
A day brightener is needed to remind us of the wonderful family we are blessed with and all their prayers and support!
Evie with her big brother, Romeo, and their doggy, Princess will be coming this way and have a week on the farm with grandma and Aunt Ruth! Love the topknot Maria!
There is so much Joy knowing that we are united in the Eucharist no matter where we are, and to bring that to my dad today was a big part of that peace, joy and LOVE!
Jesus speaks to us so powerfully about that LOVE this day in the Gospel:
"As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father's commandments
and remain in his love.
"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you
and your joy might be complete.
This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one's life for one's friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you.
I no longer call you slaves,
because a slave does not know what his master is doing.
I have called you friends,
because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.
It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you
and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain,
so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
This I command you: love one another."
Remain in my love.

Looking at my parents here on their last years of their lives... the words "fruit that will last" grabbed my attention.... We die at the end of our lives here on earth! Yet, we strive and follow after Him down the narrow path carrying/dragging our Most Cherished Cross to enter heaven forever with Jesus!
Therefore the "fruit" does last for eternity! And being open to LIFE and raising them as LIGHTS for the world gives us much fruit with the responsibility to raise them to be fruit that will last as they are called to become Saints!
10 year old Therese ending up her 4th grade homeschool work so that they can come for vacation on the farm and celebrate with John and Bobbi!
A year ago today was Hallel with the 15! The leaves are bursting forth here with the arrival of spring! Pat and the farmers are soon to begin the planting of corn!
The command to love one another as he loved us is being played out all around me in my extended family and my family on the farm! Serving without counting the cost! Jesus, you are in control and we trust in you. We place my parents in your hands and fear nothing. Amen and Halleujah
