St Rita/humble yourselves/accept children in the name of Jesus and find Him!

Hallel home a year ago!  A year later the wedding for John will bring us together, and then on to France for 18 of us in August for Hallel's wedding/final vows!

My heart is full with the knowledge that we will all be together... only missing our Little Sister Hallel... in a little over a week.  My parents are even having fake plans for coming down for the first time in over 5 years!  Also to have both of our families well represented means the world to us!  We both have been blessed with large wonderful families!
Pat's wish for a farmer came true with oldest daughter, Ruth, and her husband Paul!  Love this!!!

Ruth does so much and wears so many hats from wife, mother to 6, nurse now to the cows and calves, but also a registered nurse, a Creighton model instructor, and farmer with her dad and husband, 4H club leader, and builder and construction worker! Wow!!!  I am humbled by her.
Lilacs and grain bin pictures are a family tradition for those approaching marriage and we are just a week and a half away!

Yes, humility is huge today in the readings!  We are asked to embrace being last and small and weak and did I say... last?  Put all others ahead of ourselves and serve without counting the cost.

There is real truth to placing a child before us and reminding us that this is a prime way to die to self and to serve all their needs above our own!
A sure sign of spring... new life abounds as we near the end of calving with our 170 cows and calves all out on grass!  Baby kitties are an exciting event on the farm... especially with Ruth's kids!  They have adopted their mother's love for cats and baby kittens!

When you are open to life and committed to share your Faith with JOY and to raise LIGHTS to bring The Truth into the world of sin and darkness/the culture of death... then you are putting others first and with each child you give more of yourself... accept them in the name of Jesus..

Taking a child, he placed it in their midst,
and putting his arms around it, he said to them,
"Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me;
and whoever receives me,
receives not me but the One who sent me."  Mark 9:37 - the Gospel for today

We are receiving Jesus with each new life... The 15 here and now the 5 in heaven...Keeping us humble as we stumble down the narrow path carrying/dragging our most Cherished Cross and finding LIFE/LOVE/LIGHT!

The best part of our week... receiving Jesus in Body, Blood, and Word!  Today I will have my best hour of the week spent in adoration/prayer so deep and powerful... I place each one of our family members in the monstrance with Jesus... with both Pat and my family we reach over 200+!  Come to Jesus!!!

Jesus, it hurts to be humbled, yet it allows us to die to self so that you may live in us and we may become your hands and feet, and your words of Truth may be shared with all around us, most especially those the closest to us in our domestic Church/family.  R. Alleluia, alleluia.
May I never boast except in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
through which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.  Gal 6:14
R. Alleluia, alleluia  Yes!  The world has been crucified to me, and I long to leave it all behind and serve you better this day!  Jesus, I trust in you.  Amen and Hallelujah
In morning prayer the reading from Matthew about the way the Lord blesses even the wild flowers with care and beauty... I thought of lilacs, which I adore, and love to have a part of this celebration in our family!  They only last a week or so in their splendor, but for years to come in pictures!  Bless-bless, Barbara Mary Luke

Happy Feast Day
Saint Rita of Cascia
1381-1457
Feast Day: May 22
Patronage: lost and impossible causes, sickness, wounds, marital problems, abuse, mothers...

Rita was married at an early age to a man described as cruel and harsh. They had two sons. After her husband was killed and both sons died, she entered the Augustinians in their convent at Cascia. She earned fame for her austerity, devotion to prayer, and charity. She received visions and wounds on her forehead which resembled the crown of thorns. She died on May 22 at Cascia, and many miracles were reported instantly.
